Motivation:

For this build I wanted to construct a PC that was as small and compact as possible while still packing the full-tower performance punch.

OC results photo at the end of the post as well and feel free to ask me any questions about whatever.

Copper Beast

Photo of the copper benders and some of my test bends on soft copper. Unfortunately hard copper doesn't bend very well, I broke at least 6 feet of the 10 that I bought. In my experience the bending really depends on luck... If you want bent copper in your system I would just go with smaller OD soft copper coils that you can straighten with a hand straightener; if you are just doing straight runs like what I ended up doing, hard copper is fine.

It is possible to use hard copper... Just not easy.



Case Mod Details:

Idk if anyone else has tried to use the UT60 rad with the 450D but... It doesn't fit vertically at all. I had to cut out the bottom of the disk drive cage to fit the radiator; I also cut out a small hole in the bottom of the case to allow for draining using the single bottom port of the rad. The front of the case also had to be modified to fit the radiator, once you put on the included brass port stoppers they stop the rad from sitting flush with the front of the case so a u-shaped space was created in the front to allow for the stoppers to go through. That's about it for all of the modding.

If you look at the photo below and compare it to a normal 450D there would normally be a piece of black metal covering the rad ports.



Cooling Setup:

For the cooling I tried to make the loop as compact as possible. With the case mod that I did (cutting out the bottom of the CD drive cage) I was able to directly connect the output of the pump with the input of the rad using only a couple of fittings: 1x Bitspower Aquapipe, 2x Bitspower 90 rotary, 1x extender (I forget the length).

You can see in the below photos the connection from pump to rad along with the cutout CD drive cage.





Final Product the Copper Beast



Overclock Info:

I decided to only go with a slight overclock, pretty much used the auto XMP voltage (1.1625) and went from there to see how far I could push the cpu. I ended up being able to lower the vcore to 1.15 in the bios after hitting 4.25ghz which is more than good enough for me; my gaming probably won't benefit from going any higher. I might even be able to go lower with the voltage or higher with the multiplier but everything seems very stable right now.

You can see the photo below during an intel burn test, the cooling setup seems to be working VERY well with max temps only hitting 57c and during gaming temps don't even break 45c.
