what do you mean it's not available yet?

AMD released the OMEGA driver, which people have said contains the support.

The monitor is for sale in europe, right now. OCUK says its ready to ship emediately, thus it's available, just not globally.

Except the monitor, as sold, doesn't do Freesync. So it's only "kind of" available. You are still waiting an unknown amount of time for it to actually support Freesync

gsync way too overpriced right now but thanks to freesync they better start lowering their price

Sorry reading comprehension is not my strong suit lol.

Yup, and my "excuse" is using FACTs.

This monitor, as of today, regardless of where you buy it in the world, does NOT support FreeSync.

If you buy it, regardless of where you get it from, will have to be sent back to be upgraded, and you will have to pay shipping BOTH WAYS.

Bashing on AMD and FreeSync is pointless, because it is just Vaporware at this point in time.

Odds are, WHEN FreeSync comes out, when ever that is, it will be a much better solution than V-Sync. Will it be as good or better than G-Sync? Who knows. There have been no independent reviews of FreeSync as of yet.

Odds are, they will, or at least reduce it ... depending on how good FreeSync actually works.

If it works as well as G-Sync, then I can see nVidia cutting the price by maybe $150. If FreeSync doesn't perform nearly as well as AMD is saying, then nVidia won't have to bother cutting their price much, if at all.

Bottom line, the ball is in AMD's court. nVidia has had their product out for a year now, AMD is playing catch up.

You do realize that as of now, it doesn't work on AMD cards either?

So bashing nVidia users is pointless.

wut

doesn't require being an nvidia user to make a similar statement, and it would be as follows

"LOL AT EVERYONE THAT FLAMED ME FOR STATING THIS WOULD NEVER BE FREE, YOU HAVE TO BUY THE DAMN MONITOR"

i'll honestly be surprised if any monitor manufacturers go back & push firmware to the few monitors that could support it pre-announcement.

um, what?

It's branded Freesync, so does this mean it's the first updated VESA standard monitor on the market & OCUK is just hoping it gest a firmware update?

i didn't click the bait, so i guess i'm missing something.

The monitor has to be sent back to be upgraded, and you have to pay the shipping both ways and be without a monitor for the days, or weeks, while it gets shipped there, gets put into the que, worked on, then gets shipped back to you.

If you buy the monitor today, and get it delivered to you tomorrow, you will be no closer to using FreeSync than before.

Probably monitor manufacturers, not nVidia. They should have monitor with both options. But i remember SLI/ CF days

That's obscene.

That needs to be branded in giant pulsing red letters on OCUK's website, or they're complicit in hoodwinking people.

nvidia would need to add driver level support,

though I've yet to see anyone with any knowledge on the subject state if it would be possible / hard as hell / not so hard to just hack it into NV drivers.

I thought shipping within the EU was cheap? Iiyama got headquarters in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland (and Japan). Surely it can't be that expensive?
