Can't wait to see action pics of this beast!
If i recall Drewmeister is doing this build?
Do you have an approximate completion date?

Note sure...

From what I hear from Drew, its close.

Its build, so its in the tuning and testing stage. A few weeks to a month...

I cant wait. smile.gif

Is drewmeister building this rig? Do you have the specs on the HPCO? I'm trying to source one and I'm glad to see that a pro builder is going with that style. My problem is I can't find one over 250psi.

I'm around!!!

I was busy and then came vr, making me want a quiet always on vr solution. Now I am thinking of moving the chiller out of our custom made desk and into the adjoining laundry room by displacing some shelving.

If my distance to the 4k monitor and vr are not too long to run cable or run tubing to a quiet vr room chill box.

Gtx 1080 would be perfect sub zero!

Cheers mates sorry so long so quiet on my end😂

Hey Gents,

Sorry for Hiatus , don't move house .. it's a pain lol.

Not running the chilly rig at present which is a side affect of having less room, but i am modifying the garage so maybe one day soon i can her back up and running.

Re the 1080 , there doesn't seem to be much cooling fun there, from what i have seen they are getting 300mhz from Air cooled to LN2 gains (Galax 1080). They also seem to be getting near ambient watercooled results just from custom heatsinks (Asus Strix 1080) - leaving ambient water cooling almost not worth it. It just seems like Nvidia cards are getting worse as the generations pass for gaining mhz from cooling. Just avoid the founders addition tax whatever you do lol.

This is where AMD cards could be good to buy in the future , especially if they gain more in relation to the cooling than Nvidia cards. Have to see. Maybe a chilled Vega card next.

ShowMe .. looking forward to the chiller mate ... Hows Drew getting on ?

Hi Orthello,
I actually just sold my condensing unit as I had that thought even with the 7xx series cards yeah there is gains... but at what cost.
My CPU 3770k could do 5Ghz on air and with chilled water might have managed an extra 200Mhz and in all honesty I down clocked my CPU to 4.8Ghz because there were no noticeable gains between 4.8 and 5Ghz even with benching

Hey Feznz,

To get that last bit of extra performance is certainly costly . The chiller is down at present just due to space and layout of my new place, but can't say i'm loosing too many mhz at least with the titan xs and their voltage locked / power limited pcbs. Running 1525 mhz at present in SLI 39-44c at present. Loosing i guess about 80-100 mhz on the gpus in Games vs subzero temps. Still its not exactly air cooling , but a long way warmer than the chilled rig.

I would think its an argument to be made about buying top end video cards vs these reference Titan Xs i have, eg classifieds and kingpins so you can push voltage further under colder temps and ring another 60-70 mhz out of them - i don't think there is a need however for gaming, more a want to for benching ;-) I think next time i'll go a notch down in the gpu stack rather than getting the locked PCBs .. just not as much fun having voltage limits etc.

A custom Vega card/s would be great to play with so probably save my $$ until then and hope they like cooling more than the 1080s seem too.

That chillbox still earn you 2nd spot overall in valley thumb.gif I lost the benching bug still DICE probably be the cheaper way to go and a lot cooler too.
