is it worth the price? thats up to the customer.

to me its not really worth the price but im an idiot and will buy it anyways because thats me.

LOL... I love honestly like that! thumb.gif

The 780 Ti Kingpin stock cooler was a lot sexier, some of us by these cards for the looks and stock performance over the LN2 potential.

I took a good hard look at this yesterday with Jacob trying his best to hypnotize me biggrin.gif

This is likely the best overall stock air cooler I have seen. Memory is all Samsung IC, with the regular Classified getting a mix of Hynix and Samsung like before. I held both these cards next to each other and the KPE is also a wee bit taller with some extra traces all over the PCB- mostly in and around the VRAM section. I would have loved to take the cooler off but it was in a booth in the middle of PAX South so that wasn't happening. I did say that the price point here would ultimately end up being what tips consumers in favor of the card. Elite benchers either are mostly tied up to a brand or may well get this for free via retailer affliations. Extreme overclockers are a different story though- the 780 Ti KPE ended up outperforming just about anything else, including the regular 780 Ti Classified, on LN2 and I suspect it would be the same here with the PCB mods and the more aggressively binned cores.

As for me? I'd love to get the chance to test it out against my 780 Ti KPEs (which I am going to do a review on, despite it being way late in the game) but I am not sure I will buy them at myself just yet.

I think this is one case where holding the card in person makes a difference. Despite some paint cuts on the aluminum shroud thanks to it being a busy demo unit, it looks great and I would have preferred this to the one on the 780 Ti version myself. I am not one for RGB on everything but I realize I am in a minority here also.

I will wait for some reviews to pop up,they will be sold out for a while anyway!

Thank you for the update, however the question does come down to how much better will this card be vs the normal Classified. Big problem being the "baby" maxwell chip is there really a point for a lot of GTX 980 owners to even think about upgrading this? I know the LN2 benchers that have no affiliation to any team and do it for themselves (like a few on this website) will most likely purchase it and toss it once the next great comes out (GM200) but for thos of us already on 980s, I highly doubt this card would be worth whatever they want to charge. But that's the just negative Nancy in me.
