[Various] Acer G-Sync 27" QHD IPS 144Hz monitor debut - Page 26

So, confirmed ULMB on a 1440P 144 Hz IPS? Pretty much gonna be "the" gaming monitor for 2015. If it has a semi-gloss AR film, just epic.

If ULMB is actually confirmed at 1440p we just need a price now.

I hope it's not just a marketing mistake by NVIDIA. Mark Reijon is at CES and he's been hinted at that it doesn't have ULMB, but of course this conflicts with NVIDIA's page.

If the specs on Nvidias press release are correct, I would throw $1,000 at it no problem. I don't want to, and $800 and under would be even better, but I would.

I hope he is wrong!!

EDIT:

Right now I am sitting in front of this Overlord Tempest @ 120 Hz, and it looks amazing. I then think about this new display and it being 144 Hz, with G-Sync, and offering ULMB, on top of that same amazing.

Can a display company do better than that in 2015? 2017? For the longest time we have all sat and discussed the "perfect" monitor, and for the most part it boiled down to what this display is.

Holy crap.

I own the BL2710PT, which has an AHVA panel, and a semi glossy coating. I prefer glossy displays, but this monitor has a very minor anti glare film. I can still see my reflection when it is turned off or totally black screen, but I can't see the details. If this Acer has a semi glossy screen coating like my Benq I would be happy. It really is unfortunate that gaming monitors typically have matte finishes by default.

Also based on the images it looks like it has a relatively thin matte bezel. Matte bezels help to make on screen blacks appear darker and deeper than a glossy bezel when the eye instinctively uses it to draw a comparison.
