Acer S3-951 wont shut down fully

I picked up an acer ultrabook for cheap, real cheap because it has some issues. The thing i cant figure out is if in windows and i choose shutdown, it wont fully turn off. It turns off the screen, but stays on. Power light stays on, fans spinning still. I cant even turn it back on. I have to press the power button for 4 seconds till it finally fully shuts down. Reset bios and didnt help anything.

As a side note the 2 issues besides this that i got it for cheap is a battery that is not holding a full charge and a loose power jack. Power jack couldnt cause this other issue but not sure if the battery could be causing the inability to power off correctly.

Thanks.

Hi,

Closing the lid can activate the so called "hybrid shutdown", kernel is hibernated but hardware is shutted down, so it will be quicker on boot.

What tge bloody heck. Still have this problem. Have to physically hold down the power button to get it to shut down. Ive got a battery and dc jack coming monday and a new hard drive. Hopefully that fixes it
