[TPU] Corsair Announces the Carbide 100R Case - Page 4

Is there enough room for wider video cards like the new MSI 970/980 GTX
...according to the pictures it could be a tight fit ...side fans are probably out of
a questions for such slim cases

AFAIK there are no MSI GTX980 or GTX970 cards that are super wide. in any event, people with the money for any GTX 980, and tbh the 970 too, need to examine and prioritize better if they are reduced to buying a case like this in the first place. cases like this are for people that have to make a whole computer for the price of a GTX 980 or just a bit over.

I dont completely agree with you ...I have the MSI 970 GTX I am strongly considering this case.
currently I have a big tower case, and I jst want to switch to something smaller, therefore the
question about fitting such video card in it.

Fitting fans in all available places should cool the hardware adequately ...why would I need to
spend 100$ or more for the case, if I like a cheaper one that fits the needs.

there is likely so much in between what you have and this. for $60 you can get this or something for $20 more.

This case is pretty solid. It's exactly what a lot of people have been asking for. Cheap, good quality, clean looks etc.

If I was looking for a budget case, it would be on my list for sure.

I'd say it's worth it to pay a little more and get the 200R, it's a great case for the money thumb.gif

The Carbide 100R shatters the stereotype that budget-friendly cases have to be gaudy and poorly designed,
Poorly designed like the afterthought fan controller on my $200 Corsair 650D that Corsair refused to replace after the second time it died on me? rolleyes.gif

CorsairGeorge, I appreciate the non-gaudy cases. thumb.gif

I'm assuming the bulging on the solid side panel was to save on tooling, which is fine. The other reason I can think of is for more CPU cooler clearance if applying sound dampening foam on the inside.

It's functional on the rear side for cable routing clearance and on the front side for a bit of CPU cooler clearance.

I wasn't a fan until I saw the price. I like a flat window better but for it's price, I'd consider it.
