XFX HD6850 Ghost HDMI issue - Page 5

Yeah.. Sorry about that. Not sure how something as simple as that would caused so much trouble.

The link you have there didn't link me to a specific board. I would see what they say about warranty though maybe they'll give you some leeway.

Not you fault iinversion. I appreciate your time and help. This forum is amazing helping people with so many different issue from small to big. I am just annoyed with myself on what happened. I thought it was easy fix, all i need is motherboard speaker to help me to understand what exactly is wrong.

Here is the correct link to MB.

Yeah that motherboard is the DS3P. The good one is the UD3P.

There is nothing wrong with that board however, it just has a weaker set of VRM's(4+1 phase). Honestly it should be fine with a 6300 so long as you're not trying to push close to 5GHz. Any of the other 970 boards are going to be pretty much the same(unless they don't have VRM heatsinks), so it's up to you which one you want to go with.

Looking at that site.. that is probably the best choice you have for a 970 board, so I'd grab that. (The DS3P)

The only one that sticks out as being better than the rest is the UD3P because it has the same VRM layout as the 990FX version(8+2 phase).. which doesn't seem to be available on that website.

EDIT: Not sure if you can ONLY buy from that site but take a look at these:

DS3P: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970ads3p

UD3P: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970aud3p

FX 6300: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd6300wmhkbox

Nope. You can use CCleaner to clean up the old mobo registry files after you install the new one and should be fine.

Good news. I took my tower to local shop they have replaced my motherboard to same. They said CMOS battery was damaged and board was knackered. I had warranty they have swaped same mobo. I have however upgraded the cpu to amd fx 6300.

I will call them today to see if its fixed.
