I'm not sure where you got latency numbers from and I would like you to post your source on that please. Right now freesync is comparable, not better but gets the job done in the same matter as gsync.
Setbacks do happen. When they do, it is the responsibility of the company to let their customers know, not pretend nothing was ever said. I've seen no explanation, retraction, or apology from AMD. My latency numbers come from Blurbusters and other posts on this topic from this site, earlier in this very thread IIRC (although I think they were quoting Blurbusters). FreeSync as it stands is nothing like GSync, despite what AMD said.

do you have a quote of what amd said? i thought fudzillas sources said its coming till holidays 2014

They're not in control of what the monitor manufacturers do or their timetables. The BenQ is a 30-144hz monitor, the same fps range as any current gsync monitor.
Those latency numbers, are they real or imagined? Can you link them please?

Fuzilla said it would be arriving in time for the 2014 holiday season.

"Our sources have informed us that two other monitor manufactures can ship FreeSync monitors even sooner, before Christmas. BenQ and Viewsonic will have monitors ready to ship quite soon, almost hitting the previously reported November timeframe."

November was the original time frame. That got pushed back to "before Christmas", and then no mention of what happened until CES, still with no mention of what happened.

Fool me once, shame on you. I'm not going to be fooled twice by AMD on this one. That's why they're in the Show Me State as far as I'm concerned.

Looks to me like the monitor manufacturers chose to wait until CES to show their wares. Again I'll repeat it here AMD ARE NOT IN CONTROL OF WHEN THESE MONITORS BECOME AVAILABLE.

First of all, a technical edit. I was referring to milliseconds of delay between the GPU and the monitor itself. All G-Sync monitors are rated at 1 ms internally, and the added 1 ms is due to the work of the G-Sync module. Consequently, it also results in a 1 fps loss in the NVidia solution.

Here's a link to one of the videos explaining some of this on the GSync side.

http://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1052

There is of course less info on FreeSync, and I'll look through the relevant threads until I can find more.

AMD gets "wares" before they show up at CES. AMD (unless they are so thoroughly incompetent they might be criminally negligent) knows when delays on these kinds of products are going to occur before we do. AMD is not in control of when these monitors become available, no. They are the only ones in control of what they tell their customers and prospective customers. That's why in the end any miscommunication ends up being their fault. They were the only ones who could have "fixed it", yet they consciously chose not to.

It's not the first time AMD said something and failed to deliver through on their promise. Seriously though, we've grown accustomed to expecting that from AMD. Now, if FreeSync is able to really be as good as G-Sync in every way, that'd be their only saving grace. Anything short of that they'll be on the verge of criminally negligent considering how their PR came raining down on nvidia's G-Sync debut with a bandaid solution "Freesync"

Again, not AMD as a whole but their PR and marketing is just awful.

Ok, maybe they should have made an announcement to announce the anouncemnt about the state of play with freesync.

Let me tell you some advantages with Free Sync. It's cheaper to make, faster to implement by anyone as its open standard, the displays have other input options not just DP. As a AMD GPUS owner I want Free Sync to be the best it can. You have 3 x Nvidia GPUs. Why do u even care how bad Free Sync is. Nobody is forcing you to use it.
