Clean install of windows 8.1 on ssd

So my processor finally arrived today and I was excited to get my pc going. But for some reason my SSD and dvd drive are only recognized under legacy mode and not with UEFI. I am using the 8.1 iso from microsoft but every time it goes to restart during installation, it crashes when it boots up again.

I'm confused, as I'm not to familiar with this type of thing. I really need help!

What I've tried:
making sure ssd is in AHCI
moving sata ports on mobo for both ssd and dvd drive
making sure secure boot is off
tried installing win 8.1 multiple times

Thanks for all help!

When it crashes on the installation reboot, is this in UEFI mode or in legacy mode?
During the installation at the point where you need to select the hard drive, create new partitions. If it is setup correctly it should create 4 partitions for the GPT/UEFI schema.

You could try creating a new DVD or use a USB-drive by using the Microsoft website: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media
Download the tool and use it, after that see if it will boot.

Thanks for your help, I figured it out. It was my WiFi card. Such a simple fix! I had to take it out, install Windows, and then put it in and install different drivers.
