you can get them for much cheaper than that, i suggest looking for the best Price instead of just downright going and buying from steam/Origin

Yeah. Those are Steam prices, using those as place-holder prices. But will go elsewhere to buy.

While a bit less "shooty" I would suggest The Forest.
Still in alpha but already one of my top games for 2014/2015.

Still has a few bugs, but I have honestly seen finished AAA titles that were less polished. And it can be had for cheap.

Going to second a few games for Streaming

First, I'd start off with Team Fortress 2. Not only is it free, but you can make sure you have the internet bandwidth for a crisp, clean stream and gaming at the same time. Also, the cases and keys and hat drops can add some of your personal flavour to the characters.

Up next is CounterStrike: Global Offensive. Inexpensive, massive community, built in streaming options. Because of those built in options, people can tune in right from their CS:GO menu so a good amount of random traffic can be generated, which is always good for a streamer. Gets your name out there.

Tossing in Garrys Mod (+ CS:Source pack for the textures) purely because of the sheer number of different games you can play. Murder, TTT, Tower, and so many more options means you can be streaming something a little different every so often. Getting in with a good server can provide some of the most fun in online gaming you can have.

If you like survival games and want to add a bit of crafting flavour, you have lots of options. RUST, The Forest, DayZ. I would pick RUST or The Forest personally, just to have something different. In RUST you start out with a rock, in The Forest you start out with a small crappy axe. In both games you have enemies, The Forest being computer controlled tribe of cannibals whereas in RUST they are actual people.

And on the last game i'm going to toss out is less gun oriented but still a fantastic game, Chivalry. Game about knights and swords and castles, in classic arena deathmatch flavour. Also has goal oriented games, if you prefer that. Combat is chaotic and brutal, skill based slashes and thrusts can take your friends head off as easily as your enemies. Very fun game, gets your pulse going.

I liked Mercenaries as well, that was a great game. The second one is also pretty awesome too, however if you are looking for even more destruction there is only Red Faction: Guerrilla. Nothing can top that game for the unending havoc you can rain down upon your enemies. its fantastic.

Dont flame me, but as of right now BF4 is the best shooter imo. I've put a few hundred hours into it. I also come back to it when I need that fps fix.

Note that Crysis and Crysis Wars are dead due to the gamespy shutdown, so if you're getting these games then you're getting them only for the single player (which is good in Crysis). It's a shame too, since these along with Natural Selection 2 are by far my most respected PvP shooters. They're not just mindless shooting like most others, there is a lot of strategy involved, far more than any other PvP shooter.

So on that note, if you want a great (the best in my book) PvP shooter then look at Natural Selection 2, which has the most gameplay diversity, it is by far the most strategically demanding and teamwork intensive PvP shooter, and it has a high skill ceiling.

Another good one is Rising Storm, which is like a more mature, PC focused version of Battlefield, like a proper evolution of BF1942 (which, along with BF2 and BF2142, are way better than today's dumbed down consolized Battlefield games like BF4 and BF3) although there is no aircraft in Rising Storm. Nonetheless it's far more tactical, authentic, and intense than Battlefield can ever dream of being.

Likewise, Insurgency to me is like a more tactical, authentic counterpart to Counter Strike with awesome weapon customization, so that's another game I recommend.

Katana mentioned PAYDAY 2 and Killing Floor and I support these recommendations. However I don't think Killing Floor has a high skill ceiling, you just need to know where to go (follow your teammates), know which weapons are the best, and shoot things. PAYDAY 2 on higher difficulties is the most rewarding shooter and one of the most strategic, it really needs to be played in private co-op just like ArmA 3.

No More Room in Hell is free, and it's a hardcore survival co-op shooter, better than Killing Floor and Left 4 Dead 2 in my opinion. Note that Killing Floor 2 comes out this year most likely.

Serious Sam HD (both parts) is the most fun arcade co-op shooter on the planet in my opinion, so that's another one worth looking into. It's much better than the newer Serious Sam 3 due to having more and much cooler weapons, more enemy diversity, and far larger and more creative level design.

If you have interest in single player shooters, look no further than Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light (Redux). They have excellent stories that actually takes player interaction into account, advanced survival mechanics, and outstanding (more authentic) shooting mechanics.

I also have to recommend Underhell especially because it's free. It's more than a shooter; it's also a hardcore survival horror game, a stealth game, and a very interesting psychological horror game. It isn't complete yet (they're up to chapter 1 out of 4, so it's an episodic game) but it's off to a magnificent start, and it's free so you may as well give it a try if you want a riveting story experience.

Rainbow Six 3 with Raven Shield 2.0 mod has to be the most brutal, tactical, and strategic shooter on the planet. Even though it's old it does far more than today's kid's shooters, and is one of my highest recommended shooters. It's about as much a shooter as it is a strategy game (though it's not a formal strategy game if that's what you picture).

GREAT!! Thanks for the input and recommendations guys. I'll look into all those named. As I'm going full time streaming. This is very helpful. Great reviews @M3nta1 and @boredgunner and thanks for the tips and info. I've streamed in the past, but just WoW PVP and End game raiding, back when twitch was called Justin.tv. Since you mentioned Crysis is dead, then that's fine. I do love single player shooters as well.Just looking for games that can also fill / kill some time inbetween major stream sessions. I'm looking to be streaming 8-12 hours a day. Ughh. LOL. But I have to do something with the new rig im building and hoping to have finished by mid March. Nothing too big, but it's my first build in 8 yrs and first desktop in same time frame.

Anyway, Thanks again for the info.
