Hi everyone im here asking owner of i5-i7 with high speed ram and arma 3

If you could try at 1066-1333mhz up to the high speed you can and report if their is an increase in performance?

I read on some forum up to 15% FROM 1600 TO 2133

im on 1333 and i want to jump to 2400 that are cheaper than my 1333 at worst i can run both at 1333 smile.gif

Thank you all

Went from x58 1500mhz ddr3 to x99 2400mhz no difference from ram
Actually i preferred the x58 for arma and dayz

Overclock the ram to 1500 you wont see a diff between 15 and 24 for much gamkg

But cheap why not...

2400 as an increase in bandwith and notable performance increase in most benchmark over the 2133.

but after 2400 the gain are minimal of what i seen. Idk for arma 3

but the 2400 is cheap anyways smile.gif

what is this arma3 mark like vs missions or MP?

on a single play mission called bad holiday my average fps is 35!!! on a 6core 4.3ghz with 2400 ddr4.!!

im so dissapointed in this x99 stuff for arma3/dayz standalone.

but at least standalone gets 100 fps in forest, but 35 in cities..so i know its simply poor optimization
arma 3 has no excuse to run under 40fps in worst conditions with my rig...

my x58 had petter 4 core performance than the x99 on arma 3. (i7 930 4.0 ghz and 1500mhz ddr3)
all 4 cores were working harder, on this system cores 1 works @ 75%, 3 and 6 work at 14-30 %

arghh

i wish i understood this core spread crap better and why an ancient i7 would do better on arma 3 with 4 cores, etc.

the servers with bots have really bad performance on any pc.try something else

And a higher cpu load means higher cpu bound or poorly threaded.which could become in a bottleneck

"cpu bound or poorly threaded.which could become in a bottleneck"

so im confused, how would a dedicated 4core (without HT) handle this better than a 6core with extra threads?
are you saying the game is not using threads proper? and works more efficiently on a 4core setup?
maybe I should tell arma 3 im using 4 core...
ive tried cpucount=6, cputcount=12 and enableHT, with all same performance.

ill try this arma3mark shortly, just waiting on my wife to turn on the teamviewer...haha nothing beats benchmarking remotely.

Directx11 is using unncesary time on threads while a low level api will inprove that also tbe fact that directx has to re do the drawn elements.and the likited draw calls

There is no x58 without HT.and the game is already cpu bound plus having IA on the cpu.plus the other calcukations on cpu makes a cpu overhead.

pooly threaded games will work better on better ipc than less cores.

my x58, i turned off the HT. so it was basically a 4 core..

so what is the concept for me to increase my overall gaming experience on these heavy cpu dependant games?

set less cores, overclock a bit more, etc?

overclock more the cpu,use faster ram.in arma III avoid some IA servers.dont use low resolution if your gpu can handle a higher easier.modifiy the game Settings of distance draw(which goes to the cpu)
