40" 4K 60Hz F-Sync with a good VA or IPS panel can be a good display until you can get 40" 8K.

This is my last response on this, I only posted my opinion earlier.

So you are telling me that by comparing specifications and not actually doing a side by side comparison or without visual demonstration of the video quality, you are able to conclusively formulate an opinion as to whether a specific display will be superior to another for your unique eyes? Yes, that makes all kinds of sense. Thank you for your insightful contribution.
Yeah, I've been doing lots of research, and will make live comparisons before buying. For now, I have the next best thing, while getting advice on my 4K build, a fellow OCN'er chimed in with his opinion and personal experience, within the same budget.

I really wanted a 55" curved Samy but it seems like only the 8000/9000 series support 4:4:4 chroma via firmware and the tv I was looking at was the 7000 series 4K curved due to my budget being $1500 max.

Affordable because it's using a terrible panel with questionable build quality.

Typical low cost Chinese product.

They are blue, red and green receptors and from the combination of these three types of receptors we can see approximately 10 million different colors.

A search for...

"how many colors can the human eye perceive"

We're capable of distinguishing between a few million colors at best, with some estimates reaching as high as 10 million, but certainly not 16.8 million.

He asked how many colors are found on earth. Colors are just different wavelengths of light and there are 360 trillion different wavelengths found in the visible light spectrum. So 360 trillion colors found on earth.

Only if you're rounding the to the nanometer. But, you can break them down even further and have essentially an infinite amount of "wavelengths" in the visible spectrum.

I've been waiting for this monitor to release since the other 4k 40" option (Philips BDM4065UC) isn't available in the US. 6-bit color aside, PCGamer seems to be very impressed with the display. I can't wait for the release.
