Ever wonder how much your overclock is improving your gaming? I tested it.

Hello everyone.

Recently I built my new gaming rig (which I'll describe in a bit) and started messing with overclocking. After countless BSODs, driver failures and trial and error I believe I hit the wall with my system. It was time then to see what all that headache had bought me...

I made a 3 run battery of tests with each config and logged it. After that I got the average from the 3 runs as my score value for that specific configuration and finally compared the results between STOCK and OVERCLOCKED system.

My rig:
ASRock Z97 Extreme6
i5 4690K Devi's Canyion (cooled by a H80i)
2x4gb G.Skill Sniper 1600mhz CL9
Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming Rev 1.1
1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM
XFX TS850W 80 Plus Bronze
Corsair Carbide 300R (Cooled by 4x Cougar Vortex HDB 140mm + 1x Corsair Stock 140mm fan + 1x Corsair stock 120mm fan)

Off we go with the results: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

TL;DR:
Overclocking only the cpu improved physics test by 17% and overall by 3%.
Overclocking both cpu and gpu improved graphics test by 8%, physics test by 23%, combined test by 7% and overall by 11%.

What do you guys think of these results?
