CPU : I5 2400
RAms : 2x8Gb DDr3
4 HDD's

My trusty tagan 800W psu just died now my question is will a Corsair CX430w be able to handle this for 2 months till i have the cash for a new PSU ??

I will be gaming mostly recent games...

yes.

that i5 system will use ~110 watts and the 760 uses ~170 watts

less than 300 watts.

Alright.. The reason im concerned is i checked official sites which mention i need 30A on the +12v rail and the psu is doing 28A on the 12v rail..also online psu calc's suggest min 459w. Personally i think it will work but just making sure with some experienced guys here smile.gif

Thanks smile.gif

The official site is overkilling a lot assuming that you have a terrible PSU and other stuff drawing more power in the system. The PSU calculator is useless unless you use it in certain very specific ways that need a manual to understand, and also assume that its input numbers are correct (which is not always the case)

No need for a new PSU, unless you wanted to substantially change the power draw of your system or just buy a really nice quality PSU.

Yeah, no problem. GTX 760 is not going to draw that much power in normal gaming sessions.

Well I already have this PSU so there is no point consideration of buying it..also for next 2months I dont have an option so even if there is a 50% chance the PSU will hold then I will have to take the chance smile.gif not like I have an option...only thing I can do is not play games until I get a new PSU wink.gif

But thanks for the inputs smile.gif
