Help me build my first loop please!

Hello!

I am looking to build my first loop.

It's going in a Thermaltake level 10 GT cast
On an i5 2500k processor

I'd like to have one of those helix tubes that the liquid runs through.

Budget is about $400-$500.

I looked at the parts and kind of got lost on how to tell what's good/isn't.

I was looking at EK parts, with an LQ helix.

Any input?

FYI, you aren't going to get much help by say "build my loop for me." Custom Loop Watercooling is plug and play like the AIO/CLC units like the Corsair H100. There is quite a bit of work involved. Research is extremely important. Read guides, watch video guides, the read more guides. Then when you think you have an idea on where to start, do more research. I researched for about 6 months before I started assembling my first watercooled rig.

This is a great place to start. Filled with guides, videos, part explainations, etc.

It would be helpful to understand what your priorities are. A lot of people who are into water cooling put a high value on showing off their work. For someone like that, the esthetics of the parts may be very important. Others couldn't care less how the parts look and just want the most efficient or fastest system they can build. Some want their system to be as quiet as possible; others put maximum performance over sound levels. Some would be happy with an all-in-one plug-and-play-and-forget-it setup, whereas others prefer to really get into the nuts and bolts of each component.

Tell us more about what you are aiming for.
