Why would someone post something like that on linked in?

Exactly. Either they are looking to get fired and sued or its fake.

if the increase in perfomance its 30-35% more then gtx 980 and they use 300w from me its very good if i can play 4k at 60 fps,
Same watt as the r9 290 and more perfomance.
I will be happy with Amd.

I think that if people were really worried about power consumption and heat over performance, crossfire/sli wouldn't even exist. If it consumes 300w that's fine, but only as long as they go deep with performance. Also, I don't get the points about OCing... It's not like you can push a 970/980 to draw 500w and see all of that extra efficiency being translated into performance... There are so many other factors.... I'm not saying they don't OC well, but that they could have consumed 100w more and still OC the same without anyone raising eyebrows. Actually here's an example: Piledriver hits 5ghz pretty regularly... Haswell does not. Which one of those two has more efficiency potential? Obviously Haswell, but due to other things it doesn't translate into massive OC's. Plus, Haswell actually performs better, so who cares if it doesn't hit 5ghz.

With all of that being said, I'm skeptical about the performance of this new card being 40-50% faster than a 980, or even 30%, but we'll see. I wouldn't mind being surprised.

And people said I was crazy for getting a 1600 watt PSU for future proofing since GPU's were going down in power consumption...

AMD comes along and vindicates me. I'm gonna get 4 of em and laugh at those jackwagons right up til I start a house fire from too much power draw.

Anyone who cries about a card pulling 300 W needs to stop buying video cards and get a freaking job. Running a 300 W card at full power (Furmark or something, not games) for 6 hours a day would cost about $7 a month in electricity. If you can't swing that, then how will you ever afford any games to play?

300w? I'll go quadfire and use it and at least it serve more use as my heater, blow dryer, hair straighteners, toaster, microwave oven, and possible tea warmer. AMD really is the value king!

If it was amd that brought the lower power draw and efficiency craze it would have been the best thing ever and needed, but just because it was nvidia it's silly and crippling performance and nivdia lie about it all. Hate ocn some times, claim that the place is nvidia bias while hiding behind their red shields.

Once again, heat and noise levels.
