[IGN] Report : The Elder Scrolls Online Pulled from More Australian Stores

A source at another Australian retail franchise, Harvey Norman, told the publication that that “all game cards and copies were pulled out of Harvey Norman, and the ONLY reason that would happen is because it has become a free product”. The source added they had seen the clearout’s paperwork confirmation and that “if it was being brought out in a different format, it’d have a price drop, not a recall."

Users noticed in December that the six month subscription option for the title was removed, with only 30 and 90 day subscriptions remaining. Some theories believe that the the massively multiplayer online role-playing title will soon migrate to a free-to-play business model.

It will honestly be a great free to play title if they play the cards right. Pay 2 Win will make it even worse than it already is.

Let hopes they sell the right kind of stuff in the cash shop.

The game wont be going free to play on pc any time soon, though there may be some sort of arrangement for the console releases. The community is pretty solid and the game pulled in $110 mil+ in its first six months, more that SWoToR did in the preceding year. There has been a LOT of content added since launch and there is a massive update scheduled to drop in the next 2-3 months. The one thing you have to keep in mind before starting it is, it is NOT Skyrim with people, it is an Elder Scrolls MMO, it has some features carried over from the single player games, but it also has MMO elements.

I enjoyed this game but the grouping is a disaster (or was when I played it). I understand that the questing is kind of meant to be the solo game and you only group for dungeons, but I'm the kind that I like to group for everything, so unless you start a character with someone, or find someone on the exact same part of the area quests as you, you're screwed. However, for people that enjoy to solo more than anything, I'm sure that's a huge plus and I would highly recommend the game.

Really hoping for a B2P(one-time fee) model to curb some illegitimate players. Forces them continually pay to play the game if the ToS is stringent enough.

Wrong. SWTOR and The Repopulation utilize it.
