How do you know that? Yea, just wait to be sure. He's free to do what ever he wants, just pointing out something is coming.

I've decided to wait for Witcher 3 to release before choosing a new GPU. It's the only true "Next-Gen" game I see atm. Check the benchmarks, purchase new cards!

If you don't have to have it.. Then waiting is always the best strategy!

You may want to wait and see what comes out for the 3xx for AMD in the next month or so. It will only help lower prices all around I think, and may sway you to their side even?!

Well, there are a couple of interesting games coming. Witcher 3 is a bit far away, for some one with no gpu as in my case.
I am planning to buy a cheap used R9 290. I have a custom cooler I can put on it so temperature isn't a concern.
Used 290s can be had for 180-200$ CAD. Uber cheap for a very high performing graphic card. GTX680-770 are selling for 200+$! Forget about 780 and 970-980 that are going around 300-400$!
It seems like 16nm will not be coming this year and 20nm risk to not make it until a while. Buying from the used market will prevent you to lose too much money in case ''something'' happen. For 200$ for a R9290, you might end selling it 140-160$ after a new generation perhaps, minimal lost for a good 3-4 months of (expected) use.

I sell and buy 2-3 GPUs per and never had much trouble. One card had a rattling fan but that's it, I put my custom cooler on it anyway and was able to fix it when I sold it.
