GIgabyte HD 5670 VMod

Hi, I have this card and I wanted to vmod it., don't have more money so we have to skip buying another one.

I was reading and this card is good for overcloking, but it needs more voltage, this can't be changed from software, tried everything and it's impossible.

Here we have the pics of the card

I read that his IC is the responsible of the voltage control ( UP6201BQ )

Here is the data sheet

I'm sorry if anything isn't correctly, this is my first post and english isn't my primary language.

Cheers biggrin.gif

pin13 on the IC.. is FB for mod. You will want to measure resistance at this point and search for a connected resistor near the upper right area (according to your last pic in OP).

a good mod point will have :

1. matching resistance to the FB pin

2. continuity to ground on one side of the resistor

**if you have located a resistor which has both ; matching resistance and continuity to ground - you can either pencil or solder a VR to the side which has resistance.

Proper VR size will be 20* the original resistance value.

The tester show this results, both resistors (R604 , R614) have the same behavior. I hope all of you understand smile.gif

how about R585 .. which is near the same area?

*so long as resistance match the measured FB pin.. you should have a suitable mod point.

Do you mean the R685? I'm more curious about the VR Value, there must be some trick to detect the right resistance.

Well I detected something, two resistors that have continuity to the pin 13

When I test the resistance to the ground both show me an 60k value (aprox) I think it's a good.

Seriously dude how many places do you need to post this
