I was seriously thinking about the MSI, like the look slightly more than the Strix (for this build) but I decided to just stick with what I know I guess. Let the 980 wars begin tongue.gif

Biggest thing I can say is ASIC doesn't mean much, at least in my limited experience. My 780 Classy was something low like 64.6% yet it went as high as 1373 core on air, and held a fairly high 720p and 1440p ranking on HWBot for quite some time. Sadly I don't hold as high of a spot with them anymore (I think theu're both almost 20th now) but still ^-^

Yeah it's a leakage thing more than anything. For OCing lower is better for water in my experience. My 980 Strix is 65.0% so it's in between. My 970 was 74% and that managed to go pretty hard on air but either way 1500 on a 980 and 1500 on a 970 is a different ball game so far smile.gif

1500/2000 isn't a slouch my any means on the 980 but 1580/2073 on the 970 was quite beastly tongue.gif

I do have to be honest though... My 780 required the skyn3t bios, power target of 150%, and I was pushing 1.4V according to Classy tool (actual voltage isn't known). Oh, and winter air through the window did help a bit too, as it let me push from 1347 to 1373 core. Was saddened because I wanted to hit 1400 on air *laughs*

I reaaaally wanted to hit 1400MHz core! Besides, core was still only at like 62C still thanks to it being -30C outside. Had a decent amount of ice on the dsk fan's frame by the end of that three or so hours of benching...

lachen.gif though in SLi it's fair enough, can be harder to OC as high.

Well, another quick update...I tried and tried to use my NZXT RGB Hue lighting and managed to get some better directions and great brightness BUT to achieve it I would have the twist the strip in a way that I didn't feel comforrable with and it looked very messy because of the kinks. For this rig, the NZXT is retired so I will definitely be looking for another option. I'm checking all the info you guys have provided and look myself a little. I'll probably be able to get into the electronics store nearby tomorrow to check out their offerings - they tell me so far they have strips that can be cut and soldered every 3 LEDS and that has my attention as I'd be able to get a very precise fit. They also have diffusers for them which may be handy smile.gif

I'll wait to hear about the Darkside's (I can't get them locally to check) before I make any decisions too biggrin.gif
