So not exactly unboxing pics as I moved pretty quickly on the case construction but here's what I have. Though I have a cheap light tent I don't have any lights for it so I am relying on outside light - today was not a great day for light so I'll take some better shots when I can. wink.gif

All those years of Lego and Technic paid off! (Click to show)

Initial Impressions

The case is extremely well made and very light for it's size. Putting it together was quite enjoyable for me and it was great to see that it was very thoughtfully designed with every screw and mount in sensible positions. The strength is amazing through the main frame with no flex. The doors (I do have the Standard with Ventilation on both sides) does flex in comparison and I am very curious to see if this adds additional noise once I have my fans pushing hard through the case.

The Flex Bay system is well designed and convenient, allowing nice adjustability and the rubber mounts are a nice touch and should help with any fan vibration.

I bought my case already configured from CLs Australian distributer as it had the same format I would have order from CL, bar the motherboard tray - I would have gone SSI-EEB option. Now one important thing for Australian buyers - the Scorptec does not have the PSU Bracket available and it appears to me that it is very important to have, so make sure to get one otherwise you'll have to try to ghetto something up yourself. I'd prefer the CL option but now that means I'm going to have to suffer some nasty shipping on something only worth US$12.95.

Moving on, the way the top, front and sides just pop off is a fantastic feature with their clip system. A nice addition is also that they include plenty of spares just in case you snap one.

My setup came with the drop in mounts for the top and it's a great idea. It means I am going to be able to neaten up all my fan cables before putting them in and hide them up against the body and just create a simple splitter system in the frame of the case and presto - quick disconnect neat fans!

The black finish is top notch and at first I was hesitant to start putting it together because I've ran out of cotton gloves but I got excited and got stuck into it and the good news is, it didn't really suffer from fingerprint marks at all! thumb.gif

The looks to be plenty of ways to route cables and nice options for tucking them out of the way but we'll see exactly how that goes once I get everything together.

Once I get my fans and other parts I'll be able to comment on the rest in detail. If anyone has any questions in the meantime, let me know and I'll do my best to answer, measure, etc thumb.gif

Yeah it's a sweet looking board and some very good features! With the extra power phases it will be interesting to see if I can finally get passed 4.5GHz and maybe to 4.6GHz biggrin.gif

Thanks B-Dizzle! They had it in stock and Star Track Express are pretty good. It all arrived in perfect shape and wow the box was so light for the size, even the courier commented on it! The only issue so far...didn't realise you needed the PSU Bracket for proper mounting so I'll need to arrange that. Make sure you get one as part of your order, this is going to set me back a bit now seeing as it will probably have to come from the States.

Time to finalise sleeving. These three options are similar so I'd like your opinions. I guess the key word is subtle highlights and I am probably leaning toward number 3. I don't need any six pins for this build.

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Looking forward to your replies!
