Hey Grim, I don't know if you're planning on using a M.2 drive in your system but was looking into it in case I decide to go that route and I've heard it can be a pain to set it as a boot drive. I came across something that could be helpful to you me and probably many Asus lovers in respect to the M.2 drives. It's a fairly nice article and towards the bottom it gives you step by step instructions with screen shots of the UEFI screens on how to set things up to boot from the M.2 PCI-e drives.

Hi guys, still getting things together, had an ssd issue but almost there. I'll have the links later in but they were from ebay from an Australian seller, Avmedia from memory. Great to deal with so far and everything good for the price...all up it's cost me $100. I might get one more set of lights for better lighting control now that I'm taking photos inside.

There's been a delay with the fans so the build has halted a little. I would prefer to have all the surrounding cooling in place as the current test bench type setup with the current temps here isn't ideal.

My pc is so naked but hopefully not for too much longer!

Thanks for all the posts, when I can get back into the PC I'll reply properly thumb.gif

I'm unsure which spot you mean? frown.gif If you mean the spot between where the MB Sata connecters and the front of the case then I think yes, it would.

That's going to look amazing thumb.gif

Before I received the R1 I thought I'd paint it black but now that the elements are coming together there is a lack of colour in that space so I am going to try paining it tonight. Worst case, I just rub it back and paint it black.

Avmedia is the store I got them from on ebay. I have lost my password...long story...they are Australian so it probably won't help you much but there are plenty of similar items on there. I paid $40 for the tent and $60 for the lights to give you an idea - both from that seller. Just be sure to read feedback on the items you want, I have seem some sellers have 99% positive but 100% negative on items like this so check it out. I am very happy with these, especially for the price.

This is pretty cool. I will probably stick with my SSDs though this is tempting, I am running out of money lol.

The case fits but there isn't much room around it to take good shots. To get good shots at the end I will try in a room with white walls and good light or hire someone. I want to try to do it myself but I'll just have to see. If I can borrow a DSLR it'd be awesome!

Sorry to hijack the thread for a sec. But I have heard some things about the M2 on the Hero VII (which I have), not really being a M2 slot? Or something like that? Have you heard anything similar?
Something like that the M2 slot only gives SATA speed and not PCI-e? I am quite green on the subject, so please do enlighten me if you know anything smile.gif
