Is there a way to turn off my card's fans?

Thread Starter
I have a Gigabyte GTX 750Ti, and want to try turning the fans off during desktop use. I want to see how hot the card gets and if I can run it with no fans for non-gaming tasks. I would want to re-enable the fans when I feel like gaming. With the fans on default, the card is like 27 degrees on desktop, and goes up to 45 degrees in games.

Is there a software way to do this?

You could unplug them from the GPU...?

Just stick your fingers in the blades. biggrin.gif

No, I don't think you can do this. Usually, the VGA's software or tool allows you to drop it at about 30%... Check if Gigabytes tool has a curve setting for the fans. If it has, just arrange it manually to the lowest percentage of the fan speed and see how it runs.
It's a 750, I don't think it does so much noise....

Might be able to do so with BIOS editor IDK with Kepler.
Maxwell idles fans till GPUs hit target temp default on my 980s is 60c before they kick in.
I edited the BIOS to have kick in at 40c.

Could ask here
