if anyone else has an issue with being able to get an internet connection in your virtual machine, to get mine to work i switched over to a NAT connection in vmware settings from a bridged connection and its been working fine for a few days now.

I decided to use the vmware+linux setup for an increase in ppd. I followed the faq exactly as it was described but now I get an error and my knowledge in linux is rather small so I hope you can help me:

I'm far from a Linux guru myself, but the error message almost makes it look like you are getting a disk error. Perhaps try burning the iso to a different disk and giving it another shot. I have also seen issues with certain drive controllers but not with SUSE and not that far into the installation.

That looks like a bad .iso burnt to a CD or your CD disc is scratched.

VMware and Linux in Windows.
You don't need a CD or DVD, just set the VM to read from the ISO.
