R9 270X Vertical lines

Hey guys. I have already hit up the MSI forums today looking for help but I know there are a ton of people here well versed in the R9 cards so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here as well. Brought home an MSI R9 270X ITX GPU to toss into my APU powered HTPC. Replaces a very old 5750 crossfire setup (still rock solid just showing its age in games). After install I fired my PC up and I can get into the bios on my motherboard but there are two wide red vertical stripes on my display. It won't even boot into windows 8.1. Anyone else seen anything like this? Bad card? I swapped HDMI cables, I blew a little compressed air into the slot and tried reseating it several times. It has power, the fan on the GPU is spinning. Sadly I don't have a second PC to toss this into at the moment.

I'll list my specs down below and here is a pic showing the lines. Thanks for the help in advance.

Motherboard: MSI A88XM-E45
CPU: A10-6800K AMD APU
RAM: 4 sticks of Corsair 2GB dual channel 1600
Power Supply: Cooler Master Silent Pro 700W
OS SSD: Corsair Neutron 64GB
OS: Windows 8.1
GPU drivers are 14.12 Omega

It's a bad card, return it if bought new recently. There's not much you can do if it is displaying errors in bios. What did the ppl at msi forums say to do?

Thanks for the reply tsm106. They advised me to reseat the card, and swap cables (both of which I had done). After trying their suggestions and updating I haven't heard back from them. Guess I'll return the card tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

In the future, bars like that are a sign(dead giveaway) of a bad memory module or memory related defect. GL on your return.

Just an update. Exchanged the card for another (exact same model) and all is well. Thanks again tsm106.
