The actual frequency of 2133MHz RAM is 1066.5, but twice over.
Hence your "reference clock" of 1067MHz.
It behaves like 2133MHz because of implementation.

UDIMM has 64-bit data bus (or 64 DQ lines), so the full bandwidth of the data bus is 2133*64 / 8 = 17064 MB/s. For this reason DDR3-2133 and DDR4-2133 has a speed rate of PC3-17000 and PC4-17000 accordingly.

thanks for your kind explanation
in old days before DDR3 the 1,066 or other numbers in the DDR2 and DDR names mentioned where MHz but after DDR3 it has became the MT/s
the 2,133 in neither 1,067 or 1,066.5, it's 1,066 2/3 (the actual DDR I/O Bus Clock), I knew that but thanks anyway [in some white papers that number is still in MHz for ex Corsair Still uses MHz instead of MT/s]

Here's my 2133MHz DDR4 kit. See how it says 1066.5MHz?

My guess is that I'm being laughed at. Funny thing is, I'm right.

yeas that's 1,066.6 rounded down to 1,066.5 (not that 1,066.5 isn't correct just that 1,066.6 is standard issue. 1,066.5 has a slightly better structure, most of chip companies these days use 1,066.5 instead of 1,066.6)

why? is there something funny about frequencies? and why when you're right?

Oops, 1066.6. Rounding is great for messing people over. Thanks for pointing that out.

Likely that Voodoo Jungle thought that I was wrong, and tried to laugh at me about it biggrin.gif
