When I did my TJ07, it was an easy mod, because I simply bought one from ColdZero: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
It would be great if CZ would make some for the Mercury cases.

Making your own custom mid plate is the ultimate way to do it. But it certainly isn't easy.
Furious Pcs used a lot of ingenuity doing his acrylic plates. Looking forward to seeing what you do now.smile.gif
Well it will probably be awhile before I get the part seeing as my address is a DPO AE and this is my first mod of this sort. Hopefully I don't ruin the stuff I ordered. I think the hardest part will be cutting slots or drilling(if you can) for the cables. For this build (S3) I may wrap is in my carbon fiber if the color doesn't match. The carbon wrap I have matches the gunmetal/black theme perfect but we will see once I get everything in hand.

That TJ looks good. I always wanted one of those cases.

@DerComissar Yes it takes allot of thinking and measurements to make them i spent countless hours looking at illuminated mid plate mods and psu covers to even attempt making one on my own using a heat gun and the score and snap method is by far not easy if you have any curves it cant be done and if need fine cuts cutting with the score and snap method is risky as you can tell i cracked a little of my cover but for a budget mod without spending money on tools i worked with $30 dollars worth of tools. A Dremel or a table saw would have been must haves but modding doesn't require a boat load of tools to get a great end result . In the end if i were to make another one or a rev 2 of my panel which i probably will later on i def would pick my self up a dremel.

That reminds me that one of my roomates has a dremel! Sweet this should make cable cut outs easier

Yes use it to use cause i did some test cuts with the score and snap method making cut outs is nearly impossible you have to score all the way through the acrylic and do that on all four sides to make a cut out end results if you don't score all the way through cracked and snapped piece of acrylic without a dremel its insane amount of precision to do i wouldn't recommend the score and snap method for anything more than a strait line to get the outer shape this method will replace a table saw if you don't have one on had oh and a strait edge is a must have.

Yeah, that was an ongoing process, very challenging to make as well. But it's good that you went through all the trouble to do that, it's really unique.smile.gif

It certainly will take a while to get all the materials, and plan out those mods. The carbon fiber is a cool idea, like with your psu, it could be a neat way to dress the mid plate up.
As for the TJ, it's funny how human nature works sometimes. After spending hundreds of dollars getting it right, I found myself looking at various CaseLabs cases, and thinking how much better they were for building with. I also was going to get an S3, or even an S5 at first. But when the S8 was announced, it allowed me to save a lot of money using my existing board and parts.
For now, lol.

Well, it's great that you'll have an S3 to accompany the S8.
I've yet to see an S3 build with a KPE in it.
Imo, that's got to be ideal, having both of these cases. Now it's just that agonizing wait for the S3, lol.

Yeall itll be nice having both of them. Excited to get them finished to take pictures of them side by side and stacked etc... Both S-series gunmetal cases. One in computer room and other in living room. I am excited to have the beast 780ti KPE in this PC.

Well I just booted it up and got Windows8.1 installed. Bad news my SSD wasnt working again...2nd build I have tried with it and it wont accept windows. So I just installed it into the 1Tb WD blue, have another coming so I suppose I will just use them in raid. Not to worried about it as I am not sure how often I will truly use this rig. Waiting waiting waiting.
