[Build Log] - R4 - Project Copper

Hey guys, I just started this project a couple weeks ago. I didn't know people posted build logs until I came across one, and because I'm new.

So here we go.

I'm coming from 1/2" rigid acrylic. Primochill's stuff was a pain in the ass to work with. I found that getting the bends I wanted was more difficult than what I'm working with now. I probably won't ever use it again unless I do all straight runs and use angled fittings/couplers.

I know I wanted to work with something that not many people have done before, or maybe they have, I don't really know. So after my research I found that copper piping was my goal, and bending was out of the question. I can do it, used to do it for work - bending conduit/electrical, but it's just a pain in the ass.

Here's a sneak peak of a section I finished up the other night:

Much more to come, very soon. redface.gif

Thanks. Tubing is 12mm OD. Had to order it from a dealer in New Jersey. It was impossible to find anywhere locally.

Looks great Jesse!
Just like you, I got a red and black theme and got all the materials ready to nickel plate the pipes, but may just polish and laquer them instead.

Your runs are all straight. Did you try bending them or you knew you were doing straight runs from the get go?

biggrin.gif Thanks. I bent acrylic before this. Wasn't really my style. I like the look of angled fittings with straight runs more.
