Just got my case an X9. This case is amazing for the price. Can't believe the space in this thing for $150.00

Sorry about the crumby photos. Was late and didn't want to wake anyone. Just early photos of tearing apart anyway.

Can I join the club? BTW is there a thread sticky for our sigs? Or do we just make our own. Doesn't matter I guess...

Waiting on the rest of the WC parts to arrive.rolleyes.gif

Looking good. I bet you loved the space while working in there biggrin.gif

I love the open test bench look myself with those panels off but dust would get the better of it in the end smile.gif

Are those vardar fans? The blades / hub look funky.

I feel scared posting here, everyone has X9's with fully watercooled setups and I ordered my X1 with just aircooling ._.

But, I've been stalking this thread for a while and have seen some pretty amazing ideas and case mods (Darlenes killing it) because Im supposed to stay under 2000$ to stay out of divorce court, I'm really wishing I could do a full waterloop.

Sincerely yours, Im broke thumb.gif

Edit 1: tcassa, can we have a buildlog for those amazing looking side plates?

Okay, I have a 360 RAD showing up today. I plan to use the pump from my AIO coolers on my GPU's to get me by until I can get a proper pump and res. The two GPU's will share the 60mm X 360 RAD for now. This should be better than the single 120mm RAD I had on each previously. So I will have two AIO pumps driving the 360x60mm RAD for now, which will cool the 290x's. Is this reasonable? I realize this is not the way most of you would do this, but I'm just starting out and want to build it up slowly instead of dropping 1000$ on a custom loop. Seems to me the flow would be better on a custom 360 RAD than it is on the AIO 120mm coolers I have on them now?

I plan to plumb another (on CPU) 120 rad into my existing H80i AIO cooler to give a bit better surface area, and hopefully improve temps just a bit on the CPU to take care of that. So I will have two 120mm AIO cooler on the CPU. I already own all the AIO coolers so the only cost to me is the coolant and the water lines.

Eventually, I will get a real 360 RAD for the CPU and a separate pump for that as well.

Question: is there a feasible reason why this won't work temporarily and offer better results than I had previously?

Repurpose an AIO pump? Somehow that spawns images of dropping a Ford Pinto engine into a Corvette or Viper body... yes, it will move.. but you'll soon wish it didn't.

While a pair of puny AIO pumps in series will work.. its just.. i dunno... wrong

If its for proof of concept, then alright.
If it is for "just a few days", then dont, wait the few days till you get the right stuff.
If it is for "jsut a few weeks/months",... then just dont... i doubt its reliable.

But hey, give it a go if you want., lets us know what happens.

Likely a few months. I understand the pumps will not be as strong as a proper pump/res. Just biding my time to get the right stuff. I don't understand how it could pose a problem though? The RAD should be less restrictive than the included ones right? I'm not argueing, I just want to think it through logically. If there is a real reason (other than; why would you do that) I'd like to try it. I figure, what could it hurt? And it buys me time...

Keep in mind, this will cost a lot more than just the pump. I have to get real blocks for the GPU's, res, and pump. And likely I will just wait until the next GPU upgrade to even bother with the new GPU blocks as I don't see the point in getting blocks for such old cards as the 290x. So there's that too...

So, yes its a sort of experient of sorts, but one that I believe should work... correct?
