True. I also just ran Firestrike with no overclock on CPU or GPU and even with 9 fans, I can't hear the PC at all and the GPU never went above 49 degrees C. I'm not wearing headphones. The air coming out of the vent in the ceiling makes more noise. Based on those results, who really cares what it looks like?

My gpu barely reaches 45°C and its an r9 390, ive got a dozen fans and its pretty damn quiet enough for me.

Great. I should have mentioned I ran it on the standard fan setting with no custom fan curve, at 5pm next to a western facing window in Texas.

I use a fan controller so theyre all running at about 1200rpm, i could run em at 900 and not hear anything but they become pretty useless.

Any bad experiences with radiators above the mb in the X9? The rad directly on top of a horizontal mb is the only issue holding me back from purchasing an X9... just spells disaster and pooling if a rad where to leak.

if a radiator was to leak, i guess i would be same result in most other builds. Might as well be a leak at cpu..again same result. As i see it, its just a risk you take by doing watercooling.

Honestly if it leaks most then likely its going to follow the hose either way and end up on top of the cpu block or just drip somewhere on the mobo. I spilled so much installing mine and had no issues after letting it dry.

Anything can happen. You could have a bad compression fitting gasket, or the tubing pops off and the liquid would just spray down in a system with a lot of pressure. It's not likely but it can happen.

Yea no offense but nothing and i mean NOTHING is 100% reliable sometimes stuff just happens, hell i removed my cpu block then put it back into the fitting and the ek 90°C fitting started pissing out water and yea it was like a month old.

As far as putting together waterloops your right i havent done it as the almightys on here but guess what, ive rebuild hundreds of water cooling systems on cars, ive rebuilt (from scratch) entire brake systems on cars(where any air, and i mean ANY air will cause a crash) ive not had a SINGLE car come back with a leak so yea i know what im doing. My first loop got an hr run time then i booted it up never leaked, transferred it over to my Core X5 didnt leak. Removed my waterblock to add clu and bam actual fitting itself leaked.

You're right about that . . .

And as you've been around this thread for a long time, you know I'm usually positive and encouraging . . .

The thread has been frustrating lately though, in that it seems fewer and fewer Core X owners are realizing the potential for what the case can offer . . . settling for builds that would actually be better displayed in cases that offer better features, cable , tubing, management features for example.

It didn't start out that way.

I see a similar direction with the P5 thread . . . maybe it's just a function of the person drawn to the Tt marketing hype . . big, colorful, visually impressive, and cheap.

I see potential in the cases for some creativeness and enjoy exploring it, . . . obviously, other don't

Kinda like seeing someone with a Z06 Corvette that they never had over 35 mph.

Sorry for the rant, but if someone thinks about doing something more with their build, then at least it did something positive.

D.
