Thermaltake Core X Case Owners Club: X1, X2, X9, X9 Snow Ed. - Page 299

hey guys quick question for you with the X9. In the bottom compartment, how does airflow work when you guys have it set up like ths

in that picture the fans are pushing air through the radiator, but airflow is blocked by the see-throught panel and I dont see an intake in front of them. I know theres an intake in front of the case, does that suffice? or how does it work?

I would deffently place the radiator on the other side, and move power supply to left side instead, for better airflow, guess those that have it placed there is more for the looks of it, but thats just my opinion. But they could also want to buy the half window, and it would be a fine place to put the radiator

Yes, move the radiator to the other side.

The 4 side fan is completely useles in ur config ,they cant suck air in though the plexi.... move them to other side where they can actually bring cold air from outside.

Did anyone actually look close enough to see that there is NO radiator behind those 4 fans . . . .

They're just there for looks . . . .

The GPU is air cooled and the CPU has an AIO in the roof.

In truth, there's a small amount of space between the window and the side rail that the fan brackets attach to, so they could pull some air from the upper chamber thru the top panel mesh, especially if you had fans pulling in at the top . . . not that it would be particularly efficient, but not a total fail either.

Sometimes you see guys post some real bonehead setups, but that one has more issues getting fresh air for the GPU fan than anything else.

Just like the X9, the diagram TT provides for radiator and fan support shows two brackets, But, only one came with the X9 and looking at the newegg, pr, and review pics of the X71, they clearly show one bracket is included (lame thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif.)

I can check on this sit tight I will try to get back to you asap on this.

yeah I have the case. theres only 1 radiator bracket.

However you can mount another rad using these brackets

What do you think of this layout? So far temps are the same as when the Rad was on top which is awesome as I like this look better, but when I upgrade GPU and SLI I plan two things adding a 480 where this 360 is and putting this back up and adding PETG Hardline. Likely in December. I also like that I found a different way to do the SSDs three in a bay on their side. Cable management is also tricky as you can see it's a mess. I need extensions.
