I thought you said the specs needed to be 1 inch squared yet the casters you linked are 1.5" x 1.5"
Just want to make sure before I pull the trigger on these.

I measured the base for casters that had metal mounts that would bolt right up. Apollo Caster Company has them in stock. I paid @$20 delivered for 4 and they were well worth the $$

Here's a link to the ones I bought from mcmaster-carr for my X9. I think it was about $15 with the shipping, but you don't get a shipping quote.

Wow, I thought I was still looking at your build log's post.
Then I noticed the text.

Then I thought you were derailing the Brexit thread in absolute off-topic.

Good morning all.

Couple weeks ago I placed an order for a black/red Enthoo Primo. Sadly its still out of stock everywhere in my country (Holland). I really want to start building.

Currently have a Corsair 650D with an 360 rad on top. The thing is too high for placement on my desk. Had to lower my desk which is a pain as I am 6 feet 4 tongue.gif

The Primo would just fit if I raise my desk (1cm) clearance. Needless to say, a Core X9 would fit easy although I would have to rotate it 90 degrees as it is too deep.

Anyway:
Are there people here who have used both the Primo and the Core x9? It seems that the Primo is the overal better case but I do like a boxy case.

Will I regret getting a Core x9 over the Primo?

I prefer a silent case. Must house:
- 360 UT60
- 420 EK CE
- D5 with EK x-res top combo

Cooling a fx 8320 and a single r9 290 on a sabertooth r2.0. Air flow to the back of the cpu socket is a big plus.

Thanks for tips in advance

When the X9 first came out, there were a number of experienced builders with big builds under their belts who gave it a go, since it does have a great amount of liquid cooling capabilities at a very affordable cost.

The overall conclusion that we came to was that it was too cheaply made and had too low a build quality factor for builds that overall, had the component's value in them that we were used to.

The case effectively detracted from the overall build.

We would have paid more for the case if it was up to a higher standard, had less plastic, better thought out cable management etc. etc.

Compared to a Primo, if you have a Primo, or similar flagship model case like an NZXT 820 or 900D or any Caselabs case to compare it to, you'd see what I mean.

That said, if you're creative, and have some experience modding and fabricating, you can do a lot with the X9 to bely its low end origins.

There's also the new X5, which is shorter, so you may not need to turn it sideways, but it takes a max of a 360 rad length, so the 420 wouldn't work and you'd have to use 240's up top if you needed to have the 5.25" bays.

The X9 pretty much gives you the whole bay space with 360's up top and shorter bay space for a controller like an Aquaero, even with 420/480 up top.

It really comes down to what you have available within your individual "patience" zone.

If you really are eager to be building instead of waiting, and the X5 / X9 is available, go for it . . . you can always upgrade it into a Primo when they become available.
