Wow those RGB cables look wicked Leequan2009. I might be getting a new custom res made for me in the next few weeks , when it arrives I'll send some photos . Its a CNC machined unit made from plexi to mount a D5 pump.

Nice Where you were thinking on putting the cnc res?

It will depend on the dimensions but it looks like I will have enough room to mount it vertically in the upper left hand side of the case behind my custom glass window on some custom mounts.
If it dosen't fit that way I will lay it over on it's side with the return side facing up.
If you check out my profile you should see some pic's of my rig (Murder One) the new res will basically replace the EK X-res unit I have there now. I will need to make a new mid plate but that's easy done.
I might bling up a few things while I'm at it. I will post some pics afterwards.

P.S Thanks for the reply. Oh and twitter says that you need to follow me so that I can send you DM's Dan Hogan @Danman351. Looking out for your Ebay listing as well. Hopefully I don't miss out if your only going to make a limited number of them.

Cheers Dan.biggrin.gif

I've owned my Core X9 for a couple of years now, and I think this might be the last case I ever own.

Most of the time, it doesn't bother me the cable management is a pain to deal with...the case is so large it almost makes no difference.

Color clash? Pssh. I use perforated panels on both sides.

I used the shape of the case itself to hide the cables as best I can. I made a plate to cover the basement area from the top and the side with the window and hid the cables in there. With a few custom parts the case can be made to look awesome just check out IT Diva's work her cases look show quality. I've made a false floor , a mid plate, a custom Murder One back lit sign(Motorhead Theme) and replaced the craptacular plastic side window with a glass one. The case is great as a blank canvas , I've even seen the Yeti build in this forum with airbrushed paintwork all round and fluffy white fur on the inside! So the sky is the limit really and the cost of the case lowers the panic level when taking a saw to it to customize stuff.
Can't wait to get some new custom parts and give Murder One a refresh biggrin.gif

Speaking of glass . . . . .

Don't know if anyone has run across this yet, don't recall it being mentioned . . . .

I was looking a while back for a smaller version of the X9, which would be the X5, but it has to be white, and for some reason, they didn't come out with a Core X5 Snow Edition . . . . thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

So I was looking again this weekend, thinking maybe a white View 27 model, and saw they now have an X5, Snow Edition with Tempered Glass on both sides . . . .

Better yet, it was available on Amazon and it says it ships to my location in the Virgin Islands ! (fancy that!)

So naturally I ordered one, (and a white Seasonic PSU to color match) . . . . Hopefully, it'll be here in a week or two and we'll see where it goes from there . . .

I keep telling myself that "this one" will just be a plane jane, no frills, functional build . . . .

And then that blank canvas starts messing with my mind, ideas keep popping in and out, and things happen that I can't seem to control any more . . .

The builds just take on a life of their own, and I become just a willing pawn in their grand scheme.

Oh sure, I've had it organized that way in the past. The fan cables are most of the issue. I'm using the Noctua industrials blowing down over the SSDs and GPU, and I'm not using any cable extensions or fan splitters with those. I've had bad luck with those in the past (one fan blew up.)

The thing is, I tend to swap hardware out periodically (I'm not using hardliner tubing for more than one reason.) I just enjoy having all that room to work with. 480mm rad on the top is a nice thing.

I was able to move it over to the "CPU side" without dismantling the entire case. I did that after I bought the MSI 1080 Ti and started thinking about whether or not I'm going to water cool it when the blocks are available. I may still, I may not. I just enjoy all of the flexibility.
