Thermaltake Core X Case Owners Club: X1, X2, X9, X9 Snow Ed. - Page 412

I'm gonna be getting a couple more 980Ti Hybrids (four total) and moving over to a X9. I'm not seeing quad hybrids in X9 around here... Anyone here have four hybrids in a X9 that you could post some juicy pics of, so maybe I can use as reference?...

There was a build with 5x Gtx 1080 Ti about a dozen posts above.
And as far as modding goes, take a look at steampunk mods.

Thanks, but steampunk isn't even in the ballpark of what I am talking about. Perhaps one would have to be from USA/CAN to get it...

And really, thanks also for trying to point me towards a good post, but a 5-gpu loop is not remotely like a quad hybrid workstation. ;-)

I don't actually need reference images to do this, because this is basically a no-brainer and I have tons of experience, but it would just be cool to see some four-hybrid + aio-cpu in a X9... there is always the possibility that someone could have something going on that maybe I would not have thought of...

Did I just read that as "you don't get it because you're no American"?
Or maybe you underestimate Steampunk's reach in modding?
Or maybe, just maybe... you should explain better what you are thinking about.

'cause from what you said I was thinking this:

I suppose this was all a very bad idea... w4p, I didn't mean any of that. But steampunk is a style based on science fiction and whatnot, and is very artistic. Ghetto is the complete lack of style, design, and artistry, because when your poor, downtrodden, scratchin-and-survivin', who gives a ***** about those things?... A steampunk build like you show (every steampunk mod I have seen is incredible) makes me think of the (quite wonderful) game Dishonored. The mod I speak of is meant to make folks laugh their ass off... like the Humpty Dance version of a PC. Does that make sense?.. Or how about we just forget the whole thing?

Seems like war4peace was referring to the steampunk build because it had 5 graphics cards in it. What FrankSilvaHM seems to be talking about is building a ghetto system with garden hoses and rubber bands and using 4 GTX 980 Ti Hybrid cards, those with an AIO for the GPU and a fan at the back for VRM cooling. In short: Not a custom loop.

So basically, he's after tips on how to mount a total of 5 AIO's in the X9.

Not sure how long the tubes are on those, but I would guess you could mount the GTX 980 Ti Hybrid radiators at the top, near the back. Two on each side of the chassis. If the AIO for the CPU is only a 120/140 radiator, you could mount it at the back of the chassis. Or switch things around, one of the GTX 980 Ti hybrid coolers at the back, 3 at the top and the CPU cooler at the top, closer to the front of the chassis.

They were two completely different things. I was asking folks if anyone has four hybrids + an aio on their cpu, in a Core X9. Then, I was tossing out a mod idea (full loop ghetto) that has absolutely nothing to do with me putting four 980Ti Hybrids in a X9.

I was planning on the GPUs like you say (all four in top-rear), but there should be no problem with a H100 reaching to top-front position, right?

Never handled one, so I cannot guarantee anything, but in my mind it should reach the top-front position.

Regarding a full custom loop, the steampunk build can be a good source of information. Not the steampunk part of it, but how it's configured and set up. Replace the copper pipes with garden hoses and you are on your way!

Okay, so to be clear, I am putting four clean, sparkling, 980Ti Hybrids and a H100 in a nice unmolested black X9 case. And the ghetto stuff was just silliness, that we are all better off forgetting about...

Well that's the point, from a build style perspective they're similar, only instead of copper pipes you use whatever materials you think fit to look like ghetto style builds.
Improvised stuff and upcycling had become (and still are in certain areas) a staple of life under communist regimes. You had to. Lots of spare parts and things simply couldn't be obtained from anywhere. I was using nails, rods and string to fix my bike as a kid - and from that point of view, Steampunk is an artistic, romanticized view of what we (as a country) were doing to keep stuff working during our everyday life. Even today older people don't throw anything away, "in case they need it to fix something else".
Look no further than Cuba, for example smile.gif
So yes I understood you perfectly, and that's why I nominated Steampunk as a starting point. Same principle, only one has bells and whistles and the other doesn't.
