Thermaltake Core X Case Owners Club: X1, X2, X9, X9 Snow Ed. - Page 61

I plan on doing a build with one of these in a future, though with what I want to do with it I want to get better at modding cases first. I have an Air 540 and a HAF XB. I'm going to try to make something really awesome out of the HAF XB, and use some of the air if needed, though I don't think I will. I have one of these on the way right now, though I'm going to save it for a project down the road I think.

Umart has them in stock now. I got mine from there 2 weeks ago.

Thanks and updated thumb.gif (+1)

Btw guys, if you can tell me the country of origin for each site, that would be helpful. I did figure a few and some were given. Thanks (and +1)! cheers.gif

We'll be waiting thumb.gif

What would be interesting is a 540 w/ horizontal mb layout while retaining its radiator layout. You could flip the 540 or incorporate the removable mb tray of the XB.

Now that I have the Air 540, I prefer my HAF XB. The AIR is nice and all, though I don't like all the plastic that was used. The window is nice, I thought about using it on the HAF XB if I can manage it some how. The layout is similar, though I would say the Air has a slightly nicer interior. It has the rubber grommets and stuff. Though with how I'm managing the HAF XB I'm planning on thee radiators, 2 x 240mm, and 1 360mm in the front. It will allow for more then enough cooling. The real thing that made me chose it was the metal construction over the plastic, it just feels more durable. I really thought for being 40 or 50 more then the HAF XB it would be of higher quality then it is. Not that it's bad, I just don't prefer it. I'll use it for my wifes build maybe. Also, the AIR would be hard to sit horizontal. As the PSU would then be forced down, against the ground. It could be done with some modding though. I thought about this as well, it would be cool.

The HAF XB is going to be my first watercooling build, and I'm diving head first into it with acrylic tubing. I've read a ton and done a lot of research, the guy who did the demon speeding had a ton of great ideas. I'm going to be using a few of them in this build. The Thermaltake case will be for an entire different build theme, I might go ROG or something with it, or military/industrial. I'm not sure yet, I just want some experience first.

I was joking. redface.gif

I guess I owe you a beer now though.
Dude, last night I dreamed of the case, only it was something like a fort big enough to comfortably house a lot of people. It was odd. I really need to get it here sooner.

I wish that was true. Then I could live in a X9 and not need to go to student housing.

All this extra space in the case, thinking about doing a couple small roll out drawers, maybe a mini fridge to house a couple cold beers.

Maybe I should revisit this though when it is not 4AM.
