Thermaltake Core X Case Owners Club: X1, X2, X9, X9 Snow Ed. - Page 85

That's a limited ed Sabertooth in that color. I know Snef got one for one of his white builds.

Rampage IV extreme TheCautiousOne did is a bit harder especially w/ eight dimm slots. I would ask him on tips to spray paint. You do end up voiding your warranty and you run the risk of ruining the board, but he's been the most recent and successful spray painting I've seen.

Hey guys,

I have finished my build and Im really happy with the case but I have found myself second guessing the airflow design I have and its efficiency.

What is everyones thoughts on how to get the best temps/flow in these cases?

I have the front fans on a 360 slim ran intaking, the bottom 480 radiator facing the perspex side panel intaking and blowing into the center of the case, and the top Monsta 480 grabbing air from within the case and exhausting out the top.

I also have a 120 above the gpus exhausting and the standard 120 on the rear exhausting.

Its possible to paints motherboards, but unless it got thermal armor or something like it, so dont I recommend it.
Here is an attempt by Linus:

I have found out that airflow dont matter as much, as long as you got positive air pressure.

I have 3 rads, but only 1 of them have the fans running. Its a bit toasty at times, with almost 70 degress, but untill I get a new cooling solution, so will it have to stay that way.
Yeah, I destroyed another fan controller (well, half destroyed), so the top rads fans wont work and I'm not taking it appart before new parts arrive.

Yeah he painted slots, I would want to change PCB, am not going to risk that, and I just bought the board before I decided on the white case, or I would have spent the extra money and gone all white.

edit:
I did figure out a solution, I could use pieces of white acrylic and create a wall around the motherboard tray so the board isn't visible, and it would appear to be a fully white case.

So case labs confirmed their casters will work on this case, $18 for 100 lbs per wheel support. http://www.overclock.net/t/1555321/hd-casters-screw-pattern/0_100#post_23901499

My problem is that the other cases are too tall, if I get casters, I only have 27" to work with.

get a set on ebay for cheap ~$7.

Same here, i have limited space under my desk. The sth10 wouldn't and so that leaves the th10a. Problem is I really don't wanna leave my gpu's in standard or revers atx and S8 doesn't support 480mm rads. If i do end up getting a CL, I may have to fashion a support bracket to help my heavy cards.

Thanks a Ton Baz! I might take some Day Shots of where I am right now. I know I have Cables here and there but I should Give it a Go.

Now I need to just keep working on this next paycheck for the 980s

So, I had some ideas for what I plan on doing to mine. I'm thinking I'm going to two hinges on each side, to make it open by hinges. I saw someone do this with a HAF XB, and it looked sick. We will see how it works out though smile.gif

I thought about that too, I saw something on youtube where they used a piston and it would open on its own.
