Capcom has announced a brand-new Dragon's Dogma game, Dragon's Dogma Online. Due out in 2015 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC, the open-world game is a free-to-play title supported by microtransactions.
Dragon's Dogma Online was announced in the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. It is unclear if Capcom plans to release the game in the US or Europe.
I wouldn't mind it if the microtransact ions were more so just for buffs in pve. Speaking of which, I don't know if there will be a pvp side.
I'd honestly just play the pve. Hopefully itll have more of a dark souls feel in where playing with someone else in your party is optional but the story and game can be done with your npc party.
Oddly, as much as the two games look similar, the differences in graphics and physics make it seem as if they are not using the same engine, but maybe that is just the scenes shown and/or changes to the engine.
The first game was fantastic, spent lots of time just roaming and enjoying the battle system. It wasn't perfect (1 save slot is, like, worse than the first zelda, c'mon. And oh god THE INVENTORY CLUTTER), but still great fun. However, we all know how games tend to end up when transitioning from an amazing single-player experience to the MMO cesspool.
I have all the hopes in the world for this game to be amazing, but they're accompanied by a truckload of salt.
I want it to but As Xplode said, capcom hasn't said its coming to NA/EU. So no point in getting all hyped for this.
