How to connect GPUs in adjacent slots?

Thread Starter
I need help finding fittings or a custom solution for adjacent cards. I have ~6-7mm of space between the waterblocks. I have not found anything in my searches. Can anyone provide recommendations or advice? Custom solutions are fine. If anyone has the ability, PM me. I'm beginning to believe such fittings do not exist.

These fittings are the last thing preventing me from finishing my build. It has been frustrating.

Any help/advice, I can't thank you enough.

What blocks? My ac blocks have a replaceable bridge, but I have a spare slot between that the block requires. I know swiftech makes collapsible connectors, but they only seem to go down to 11mm, which should be plenty. 7mm is amazingly close.

Funny you should mention those.... I have 6 on the way, LOL. They're too big. I had a mental mixup after measuring everything and thought that they'd be okay. My system is going down in 2.5 hours, that's when the last WU will be complete and I'll remeasure everything. Fairly certain about the 7mm.

OP - can you post the pictures? I have 4 GPUs side-by-side, all waterblocks connected, but 6-7 mm does not sound right.

Here's how it works for me btw, but that depends a lot on your waterblocks.

Ok, checked Syscooling pictures - it really does not look any thicker than other waterblocks... 6-7 mm definitely sounds awfully close to me.

No pictures unfort... for now anyway. I'll wait til the links come in.

A bit of irony... or consistency, depending how one looks at it. The links may be fine. Consistency being I'm incorrect in my thoughts at almost every step with this build. Irony being this is the first time I thought I had it wrong. Every other time I thought I had it right.

I arrived at 6-7mm by putting two waterblocked cards in which I supported by my finger as there was no backplate. I took two plugs and put them on aligning inlet/outlet of adjacent cards. This seemed the perfect distance and I used a caliper to measure the thickness of the head of one plug (.117") and multiplied that by 2. This didn't include the o-ring.

Last night I attached backplates to the cards and measured with no plugs in, I got 0.395" (~10mm). So I might be good. And I just did it again because it was done quick yesterday... today I got 0.410". 11mm is 0.433", close enough I think.

If they work I'll be really happy but I'll feel like a buffoon for a little bit.

Know this is rather old and doing some resurrection but here's the pic!!! biggrin.gif

I did need to machine them down to 9mm. Did some wonky measuring to get 6-7. Think it was just not accounting for some droop from the weight.

Thanks... it's like having a really hot girlfriend though that's a major pain in the butt. No else knows it except you but everyone drools over it.

I went salmon fishing in Alaska over the summer. The computer is in MA and literally the day I was suppose to leave my Repack setup with 4 pumps arrived in the mail. I set it up. Made some odd noises when I started up the second setup + there is one leak!!! Just so happens it's one of the adjustable links near the middle GPU... all the release tabs for the slots are pretty inaccessible because of the waterblocks. Lastly, I'm going to turn this into 7 in series (sealing up one connector above/below a GPU) instead of parallel inverted-F to guarantee waterflow. I don't think the gradient will be too bad. It's not like I'll be maxing all 7 out at once... plus... that would pop the breaker! biggrin.gif

I ended up returning the pump setup to get again when I return shortly in a few weeks... after a few more hours of work I think I'll be all smiles

I know your pain. Well, sort of. I have quad-GPU loop and anytime (luckily not too often) I need to do something about GPU in the middle, there's lots of things to take apart and back together. With 7 GPUs... oh man.
and this is why i have 2 dead cards (well at least 1) still stuck in my current build

got tired of taking it apart to troubleshoot
