Looking for surround sound PS4 headset

I play a lot of COD: Advanced Warfare, and I have realised that I need to upgrade my headset as I have been using the Beats, which actually works pretty good for that game, but now I want a proper surround sound gaming headset that I can hear footsteps coming.

My budget is around £170, If you can please suggest any surround sound headset that I can buy, because I have looked around a lot and there are just too many choices.

Headsets that are currently in mind:
Astro A40
SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism

Using skullcandy plyr1. Great headset. I believe same audio quality as a50 since astro bought skullcandy.

Is it good for gaming? What games do you play with it? Does the surround sound work good?

I play everything really.

Far Cry 4
BF4
COD:AW
Driveclub
and many more.

The headset is amazing for gaming. Before this one I tried Sony Pulse and Sony Gold Headsets and Skullcandy PLYR1 is a much better option.

The reviews are also very good for this headset. 2 downsides though.

First one is that the build quality is not great. It is not bad either. You just should not rage throw it. Might get broken. You should treat it right.

Second is that sometimes people claim that my voice is a bit soft when I talk on the mic. I only encountered this issue one time though. Was not really a big problem.

But other than that this headset is amazing and it is wireless. Works great with PS4, MAC, and my Smart TV. I can easily watch late night TV shows or movies without waking anybody and it is great. Music is also very good.

I strongly recommend it. The Audio quality will be same if not very very similar to Astro A50. 5+1 Surround works great for a headset. Almost as good as my home theater setup. I can easily distinguish where the sound is coming from.

Batterly life is also very good.

Wow, if everything you said is correct, I might just have found the headset I'm looking for!

Anything else that I should know?

Thanks for the info mate.

The thing about audio is that people usually have different opinions. I might love it and you might not. But at the end of the day every review beside me also says that the audio is great so I am guessing you will love it too. Just take good care of it if you buy it. Don't drop it.

Other than that seting it up is easy.

I am sure you will enjoy it. I am loving mine more each day. thumb.gif

I have the astro a40, its a rock solid headset. mind you, surround sound in headsets is simulated.

it definitely helps with positiong in multiplayer games which is what i got it for. doesnt make my ears hot or sore after extended periods which is great too.
