Two in three born today likely to get cancer

Half of those born since 1960 will develop cancer in their lifetime, new forecasts warn, as experts suggest it could reach two thirds among today's children

I just wanted to post this cause the electron microscope image looked pretty tongue.gif

Most people in the world get cancer weekly if not daily, but the our cell's controls and destroy it , but when it failed to do so there the cancer will develop and spread to other parts of the body. So usually when we are getting radiation from electronic devices or smoking, alters and create cancers cell which can grow abnormally and spread to other cell, unlike normal cells which has limit to the growth. An example will be masses that appears on neck that the same color of the body these type are dead ones which were destroyed by the cells

Here is the picture of normal cell and cancer cells

Interesting... this was published 2 days ago:

Maybe none of the children born today will ever have to deal with it.

This is rubbish, it's impossible to form accurate statistics for a start (cancer is mostly environmental, and over a lifetime, all sorts can happen). And that's saying nothing of demographics (different races' genetic susceptibility). Not to mention that once you get cancer, you'll get it multiple times (i.e. come out of remission, or relapsing) if you're young enough. Once your genes are mutated to a point where they are cancer-susceptible, you're a target for life I'm afraid.

This article is the newspaper equivalent of clickbait.

This article is the newspaper equivalent of clickbait.

Anything regarding mainstream media is either senstationalist or just sheer lies. I thought this was common knowledge by now.

It's why i won't pay a TV license fee, nor will i give any money for papers or any media outlets.

I read the the OP.

Said to myself, 'I bet its because people born since 1960 will have an average life expectancy of 90-100 compared to 70-85 of those born before 1960'. ie. more age related cancers.

I then read the Telegraph link.

Yep, Pretty much!! smile.gif

Even the 1 in 3 or 1 in 2 figure needs to be clarified though.

Its an average. It means out of a population as a whole 1 or 2 in 3 will get cancer. It doesn't mean out of every extended family of say 30 people that 10 or 15 will get cancer. That average can be arrived at by 3 extended families with 30 people each where one family loses zero to cancer, 1 family loses 2 to cancer and one unfortunate family loses nearly everyone to cancer eventually. Genetics and lifestyle are a huge factor with cancer.
