So I finally got the time to do some painting and since I'm a master at procrastinating it's of course a week before one of my finals... So for some reason I decided it was a good time to work on my build rather than to study, but I guess that's how it is when you love doing something right
Anyway, here's some pictures of the process and as usual some explanation for each of them. Enjoy
Here you can see the damage that was done on the radiators. I can't let myself put that in my computer, even knowing it will all be covered up by acrylic plates
Since I'm already at it I figured I would give the back-plate I got from @richie_2010
a go at it as well. Hopefully it won't turn out half bad, if not I'll just go with my original idea of using vinyl for it.
As you see the original paint was not as solid as I had hoped, so this time I got some metal paint and I will give that a try. I looked at a couple of samples at the store and it doesn't look like there will be brush marks when it's finished, but then again I'm no professional painter. Wish me luck
On to some preparation work
I started painting outside, but then I looked up at the sky (to concentrated at my work I guess) and saw this:
Suffice to say, I moved in to my garage after that. The work bench is a bit cluttered, but here you can see the first coat applied on to the pieces:
It's supposed to dry at least 4 hours before I do another coat, so I think that will have to wait until tomorrow.
Oh and I forgot to say, I got a small package from Slovenia yesterday... Sorry to disappoint, but it's nothing big this time. Just some parts that's needed to move the build forwards:
I also ordered up a simple male to male fitting because, why not while I was already doing an order. At any rate this should remove my concerns about having Teflon tape debris stuck in my blocks:
That is it for now. I'll see if I can't get some real stuff done soon, having this big box just sitting here waiting to be filled seems to tempt me quite a bit
Oh well, maybe next time Edited by Rainmaker91 - 9/29/15 at 7:13am
