Hi.

I´m owned my metis case now six months and this site given me lots of information and tips and tricks to modify my project. Not finished yet. Never i quess biggrin.gif

First version (1.0) was air cooled with noctua nh-12s and top of the case were 114mm ventilation hole with 120 prolimatech ultra sleek wortex fan.

version 1.0 specs

Asus Z87i-pro and finaly I found used Impact VII
intel delid 4770 K @ 4.4-4.6 ghz
Noctua nh12s with two fans (intake)
Tactical Ballistic lp 1600 16gt
Gigabyte gtx 970 mini.
Silverstone sf 500-lg. ( RMA two times ) (exhaust)
samsung evo 250 ssd
Two Ultra sleek wortex fan (both intake)
Lian Li fan controller. ( Made a hole front of the case. Stupid me)thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

And version 1.1 with custom water loop

Specs.

Impact VII
delid 4770K @ 4.5
tactical ballistic lp 16gt
gigabyte mini gtx 970
corsair SF 600 facing to front this time.
samsung evo ssd 250 and 500
aplhacool XT45
EK res 140 reservoir and pumb
EK FB ASUS M61 Mobo block
92mm noctua fan top as intake
120mm noctua fan top as intake
two gentle typhoon 120 1850rpm fan with radiator as exhaust.

Now I can say I build a "quiet" pc. All fans and pumb are controlled via speedfan. I modifyed gpu bios,so I can adjust the gpu fan to zero mode. Pumb is allways 30% and top 92mm fan starts when cpu reach thermal point. Second 120 top fan ramp up with gpu stock fan after gpu reach 50 celsius or cpu reach over 60 celsius. And short test with some stress testing programs and playing bf4 show me gpu temps are 56-59. And cpu 55-61 celcius.

Next project is some cable sleeving and shortening because corsair cables are stiff and hard to bend and hide. And case also need new legs to stand for.

Case mods:

I replaced the psu so near at front panel and windowed side panel corner so i got room for my reservoir and cable management another side of case. And second I made a hole bottom of case so my reservoir fit in case. That xres140 reservoir were my previus atx case leftovers. I also made holes to mb tray for cable management and airflow. And back of the case I made holes for xt45 radiators filling ports and also new radiator fan screw holes, so radiator lay on bottom of case. On top of case has now 114mm hole and 86mm hole, and future options to make 240 radiator grill if I use two 120 fans or radiator.

And I am that previous generation Finish person with typos and bad english biggrin.gif

But that build is quite clean and simple. Awesome job! I think its a styx-case.

Hey guys. I kinda feel stupid. I had issues with my AMD APU in this case. It got hot and loud. I also wasn't satisfied with the performance. So I got a CPU and dGPU. The CPU is cooler and quieter now but man, the GPU goes up to 85 Celsius which I know isn't dangerous but it's louder than it's ever been. I had this case and wanted something compact. It's a budget build and I don't want to throw more money at it by buying a new case since I already have the Metis. Do I have to live with the noise? It's a lowly 75W GPU with a 80mm fan. Only GPU causing trouble. The rear fan is an intake with dust cover so there's enough air in the case for a combined TDP of only 140W. It's just that the hot air from the GPU has nowhere to go. I'm incapable of modding this case unfortunately :/

On thing you could try is taking the window off and replacing it with some kind of mesh panel.
