I had this happen on my Styx. I just retapped the holes to the next thread size up, which was M4, IIRC.

Since it's aluminum forcing a larger screw might work, but it won't be a very clean job and I'd worry about it stripping out again. Ideally you'd need to go to your local hardware store and buy an M4 tap and tap handle. Once you have though retapping the holes shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes.

Hi everyone,

i was looking for a very small case where can be accomodated a fullsize GPU. But while the first benchmark was running, the GPU started cooking. That was the reason to optimize this case. And this is the result.

I'm really happy with the temps now.

CPU 32°C / 58°C [ idle / load ]
GPU 38°C / 68°C. [ idle / load ]

Intel i3 7100
Asus RX 470 Strix, 1300MHz @ 1,020V / 1750 MHz @ 1,0V
Kingston HyperX 2x4 GB
Noctua NH-U12S
2x Blacknoise eloop in the top with dust filter
Corsair SF450 with customize cables

This thread is so awesome, so many cool builds. Really nice to see what you people made possible.

@ocrish:
Did you use the Metis or the Metis Plus? Because I like the way your top fans look, so I'm wondering if it is the Plus + 1 custom fan mount (already 1 top fan mount) or the Normal with 2 custom fan mounts.

I'm personally waiting for the Biostar B350GTN as one of the first AM4 mini ITX, but trying to get an idea of how to build the rest of the system.

If I get an normal ATX PSU, but with 140mm max. length, will this be any problem with a 252mm graphics card? Because the "Cooler Master G650M 650W" is on sale for just 60€ incl. packaging right now, I think this might be the one for me.

I used 140mm silverstone PSU and made it work - http://www.overclock.net/t/1539670/raijintek-metis-owners-club/550#post_26014896
I removed PSU bracket and secured PSU directly to the case using one screw and some double sided tape to the motherboard tray. Worked out great.

Only issue I have with the case is poor airflow when gaming. When stressing just CPU it never goes over 65c. But when gaming the case itself get so hot that I can barely touch it.
I think that I will drill holes at top for 2x 120mm fans.

I have got the Metis "non plus" version because i do not like the way the window is installed. And finally, i want to have two fans in the top, so i had to take my saw anyway smile.gif You have to take your time to make a nice template for the holes. It is worth it.

The Raijintek Styx case has the possibility to install two fans in the top. It is a little bit higher than the Metis, but if you do not want to cut the holes yourself, maybe it's an option for you.

This is one of the reasons I went with the Styx over the Metis. Other reasons being the option to go with an mATX board next time I upgrade and the optical drive. And I got it for a really good price from a fellow OCN'er
