so I am actually a long time Metis owner. Still using the first, »classic« version of the case.
Inspired by one image from Metallicacid and his Metis Mod I decided to change the layout of my Metis case to fit my needs.
First, I switched the motherboard from left to right, or up to down if you think about the graphic card position.
Then I used a Dremel to cut out a piece of the backplate and used some screws to mount the PSU frame next to the motherboard.
I also used the Dremel to cut out a 120mm hole in the floor of this case and place a fan grill from Phobya in this area .
This setup allowed the graphic card to directly suck in the air from the bottom.
Well, then I updated my card from the Asus 970 mini to a Gainward GTX 1070 Phoenix. From 170 mm to 285mm.
No way this card would fit into the Metis. So it stayed into my modded G5 case for 1/2 year.
But I really like my Metis case...
So after some more thinking I created a plan how to fit my new GFX monster into the Metis.
Actually it was easier then I thought. I disassembled the case, measured a lot, bought a pice of wood (18mm strong), cutted out a frame which fits the front, mounted the front to the frame and the frame back to the case et voilà, enough space for the GTX 1070 (ok, it is a pretty close fit).
Temps are fine by the way.
with the current system in the Metis.
16 GB RAM
Cooler Master Seidon 120V
Gainward GTX 1070 Phoenix
Sharkoon SilentStorm SFX PSU
When playing the Witcher 3 the graphiccard runs at around 66°C and the CPU at around 50°C.
This is with just one FAN on the AIO Watercooler. The PSU is mounted that the fan faces the front.
I hope some of you can find some inspiration in my mod.
