Its a shame, the upper side of the card is a bit ugly. When I have time may I mod the card to hide the white part of upper side.

Have an alphacool backplate on mine and it does get warm to touch but they wont sell it as a standalone , just like asus wont sell the Mini OC one frown.gif

Ok...just out of curiosity I ran 3dMark basic edition with Asus GPU tweak set to OC and this is what I saw.....

HWiNFO64 says
GPU core clock max 1,348 Mhz
GPU memory clock max 1,757 Mhz
GPU Video clock max 1,248 Mhz

Idle temps 37 degrees C
Max temps 80 degrees C

3DMark says
Memory 4,096 MB
Core clock 1,109 MHz
Memory bus clock 1,758 MHz

The backplate was warm to the touch...a little warm. Hope this helps (and hope normal....)

Already had installed GPUtweak and 3Dmark (licensed, so I ran Fire Strike only).

HWiNFO64 :
GPU core max = 1285MHz (its set to 1248MHz)
Memory Max = 3506 MHz (1.753 MHz x2)

IDLE = 28º
MAX = 73º

Yep, I think that your temperatures are too high. My IDLE is 28º and quickly went back to 28º after the test.

Under air mine were

Idle
32c, 29c
Load
83c, 75c

Hybrid its
21c, 40c with a very hot backplate . 1460hz in firestrike

I've been looking more and more and I see it more around 31-33 idle now on silent mode. Guess the OC mode bumps up the idles and ill not really switch it until I put on a game I guess....

Thanks for your temp responses...makes me feel ok. Been googling and I see most get around 30's idle and 70-80 under load....I know all setups are not the same.

I use evga precision x16, rather then Asus or even MSI is a good one

Mine runs at 25c - 28c idle and runs at 78c consistently when under load in OC mode using GPU tweak. Without OC mode on I run at 25c pretty consistently so I think it does raise the idle temp a few degrees.

I did wonder if you can control the fan speed on the unit itself as when I go custom in GPU tweak and increase the fan speed it seems to be increasing the fan speed of my 2 front fans connected to my Corsair H110i GT?!?!?!

There is a noticeable sound increase from those 2 from fans and increased air pull you can feel with your hands whereas the feeling out of the back of the ASUS doesn't seem to change at all.

(I have a 280mm Kraken 61 with 4 140mm fans in push/pull on the front as my only case intakes) Anyone find a good way to get your GPU better temps or cooler air?

My 390 hit 87 in Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Too hot for my tastes.
I replaced the TIM and made an ABS shroud to only intake air through the PCI slots.

Only helped 3 degrees.

I know there's an issue as if I leave the side panel off it drops 10 degrees.

The temps are within spec, but I don't want to negatively affect the card life either. I may run the NZXT watercooling adapter on my old h80i, but I'd prefer to not buy another piece without trying stuff first.
