550w PSU enough?

I have a dell xps 8700. I7 4700, 12gb ram. Im looking to upgrade from the crappy nvidia gt720 to a asus r9-290x. I have a ocz fatality 550w psu and was wondering if that would work. Thanks.

the 2013 full modular version is a mediocre 500w unit, but will power the system. the older version is a borderline crappy 450w unit and I wouldn't run a system with a 290X on it.

It actually says minimum 460w. My system has a delta 460w but i dont think i would trust it.

This time it is not too much of a wattage issue. I'd be more concerned about amp supply as your Ocz has 37.5A max on the 12v. I've seen test results where even R9 290 can draw 50+ amps.
