I'd like to hear from especially gigabyte gtx 980 g1/wf3 owners with 2-Way sli conf what temps you getting in games like bf4.

My temps with stock fan profile
Lower card 59-62c
Upper card 72-75c

Is this ok..got good airflow in my Primo

What temps are you getting?

Unless I'm thinking about it backwards, shouldn't your top card not actually be your hotter of the two?

The Gigabyte 980 use axial fans, so the top card is basically sucking up all the hot air that got dumped out by the bottom card.

@OP: I don't have the 980 but I have Gigabyte 970 in SLI and am also using the Enthoo Primo. Your temps are pretty much exactly what I saw when I was still air cooling my cards. The top card would run 10-13C hotter without exception in pretty much every game.

Aye it's backwards, the bottom card prevents fresh air flow from hitting the face of the top card from below thus a higher temp.

I wish there were more spacing between the cards, but it's like 7-8c from 80c where it's start to throttle. I'm gonna place a fan in front who can push air better and perhaps lower the heat..

In fc4 the upper card gets around 78c max..

Need a side fan :-) mod my primo wink.gif
post #7 of 9
No need to mod, just use this side fan mount.

I installed an AF140 on that thing, and even with the AF140 just being an internal fan that's not bringing in fresh air from the outside, I dropped temps by about 4C on the top card. Just make sure your side fan is blowing into the cards rather than sucking air from them. Depriving the top card of air is apparently much worse than blowing some hot air at it lol

entirely read it as your bottom card has the higher temps because you wrote the top one on bottom, and bottom one on top.

I'm running them in SLI, under furmark full burn in test my top card sits at 79-80C, bottom card is at 67C, those temps will be lower in game as furmark basically runs a worst case scenario. Running Unigine Heaven 4.0 I get top card 66-68C and bottom 53-55C both cards at 95-99% usage.
