HD6950 change minimum Fanspeed within BIOS?

Hey guys,

so I've build a LAN party miniITX RIG for myself with some hardware I had left over, including my Powercolor Radeon HD6950.
The problem is, since my Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo II on that graphics card didn't fit into my Fractal Design Node 304, I had to mount the original cooler back to my Radeon.

But what bothers me the most are the extremely loud fans, even at 20% on idle, so I wanted to ask if it has any effect if I turn the minimum fanspeed in the BIOS down to 10% or 0% with ATIWinFlash?
I'm asking because on my GTX 770 it didn't work the fans still run at 30% minimum.

Did someone try that? Would be cool if that worked, since I don't want to buy another cooler or a new GPU, since this RIG was not intended to be more expensive.

I don't want to configure my fanspeeds, I want to change the minimum value, because the fanspeed can't go below 20% and I wanna know if this even works because on my GTX 770 I modded the BIOS to a minimum fanspeed of 0% but that doesn't, Afterburner still runs the fans at 30% minimum..

Edit: OH GREAT, I never even tried but Afterburner lets me set the fanspeed below the 20%

I should have tried it first, I'm sorry, this thread can be closed...

i know you got i figured out, but just so you know if you had looked at what i was talking about you can set minimum fan speed value through the profile's xml file. although afterburner is great doing it this way you wouldn't need a third party app to do it for you.

Well, if I can't set the fanspeed within CCC to 0% I wouldn't expect it would be possible with some profiles.
And like I said, I thought the fanspeed minimum is limited like on my Nvidia.

Also I read someone couldn't overclock with CCC over 840MHz since CCC limited this also and I can't change the voltage within CCC as far as I remember.
I normally want to go out with as less thridparty software as possible, but Afterburner works fine setting a good fancurve and I could overclock it to 915/1375MHz but had to turn up the voltage a litte, so I'm fine with this thirdparty.

..... its obvious that your not fallowing what im saying, nor want too. but at least afterburner is doing the trick for you.
