[Official] 21:9 Owner's Appreciation Thread... post... anything related to 21:9! - Page 21

I'm looking at upgrading from a dual 21.5" 1920x1080 (each) monitor setup to a nice 34" 3440x1440 ultrawide flanked by a 27" 2560x1440 display on each side, and can't wait for the ability to spread my work out across a wider, yet still easily accessed area. It's going to be nice to finally be able to fit most of what I want to keep up actually on a screen and be able to see it without having to constantly alt+tab around!

So gaming on the center screen might be difficult with some titles, most of the games I enjoy nowadays support it either natively, or with a few tweaks that don't take long to do.

my ideal setup is a pair of curved samsung 27" 1440p with a curved samsung 34" 1440p ultrawide in the middle.

my current setup is abit sad being a pair of flat 1080p 23" with a LG 29" ultrawide

issue is with mixed resolution you really need a AMD card to be able to use it properly, nvidia doesnt support it.

I'm pretty sure that if 21:9 was dead then nothing of this would be happening today.

Also, I'm afraid the internet will murder me if I build an AMD Rig with Razer Peripherals and a 21:9 screen. And a Xbox One.

Because you know, I can't spend my own hard earned money in whatever I want to, I must follow the rules of the internet and obey people to buy what they want, otherwise I'll be labeled as "fanboy", or "dumb", or anything else.

Congratulations, internet!

funny thing is im heavily invested into razer gear just because it fits my use style rather then being a fanboy and i use wireless headsets so i've already pissed off half the net especially the gamers and audiophiles.

chroma blackwidow tornament(switched from corsair k65 RGB) , chroma naga epic, chroma orbweaver, chimera 5.1 (recently swapped to the logitech G933) .................

Oh, nVidia supports it you just can't do surround gaming, which I don't intend on doing so it isn't as much of an issue.

Have almost bought the u3415 so many times. Been holding off for an ultrawide with 1600p so it can play nice with my plp setup. Sounds like there's hope...LM375UW1 32:9 3840x1600.

I bought 4 games from Steam and returned them due to no 21:9 Support

Life is Strange
12 is better than 6
Ancient Planet
Hotline Miami 2

Will probably buy them on PS4 at some point or wait till they are free on PS Plus.

Allow me to suggest a few things: do a little search for fixes. Most of the time you can find them. Websites like http://www.wsgf.org/ have a huge list with information and fixes if they're available.

Also, if a game doesn't really support 21:9, try to play then in windowed mode. In my opinion it's better to play like this while seeing the desktop than with huge black bards on the sides. And don't forget that Hotline Miami is an indie game, I don't think such simple games must have that mode available. Just my opinion tho. Hope I helped

I feel you here. So many games don't support ultra widescreen, my most recent was Magicka 2, and I played it in full screen, with 4-5" black bars on each side of my screen.

There usually isn't much help from devs with this, but there are some resources for you as a ultrawide gamer. Check the following sites:

http://flawlesswidescreen.org this is a program file for certain games to play in ultrawide and/or eyefinity. They have a list of supported titles on the main page.

http://www.wsgf.org This is a forum of users who mod and or work on unofficial fixes so people can run games in ultrawide resolutions.

Both are good resources, and until ultrawide really kicks off, we will have to resort to these methods for many, many games that devs just don't support in this way.

Thank you guys both...

I already knew those sites though and those some claimed there was a fix for Life is Strange, I never could do it... No biggie though, I will either play it on PS4 or buy a steam link and stream to my TV...

Oh well... the refund money is pending, when it is available I will buy

Invisible INC (confirmed support)
Attractio (no idea)
Sniper Elite 3 (confirmed support)
Depth (confirmed support)

Finally managed to start capturing at 2560x1080p in Shadowplay. Previous videos were 1080x810

Here is a Rocket League montage rolleyes.gif Watch the 1440p version as 2560x1080 is under 1440p category.
